You will again have compassion on us;
you will tread our sins underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:19
I like this verse because no matter what sins I have committed in my past, God had compassion on me and forgave me of all my sins the moment I invited Christ into my life.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
~James 1:2-8

This scripture has been very powerful for me all year as I have learned not to doubt the wisdom with which the Lord has blessed me. I have come to realize that if it doesn't feel right, it isn't. If it does, even if I don't like it, I need to finish so someone else can receive the blessing. I have learned to speak when I feel the Lord is telling me to - regardless of who the recipient is. It has been really amazing to see this scripture come alive as the trials have produced wisdom and that wisdom has resulted in blessings all around!

Matthew 8:14 When Jesus went into Peter's house, He saw his mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and began to serve Him. 16 When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick, 17 so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:

He Himself took our weaknesses
and carried our diseases.

I especially like this verse that makes so plain what the prophet Isaiah was referring to when he said:

Isaiah 53: 4 Yet He Himself bore our sicknesses,
and He carried our pains;
but we in turn regarded Him stricken,
struck down by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was pierced because of our transgressions,
crushed because of our iniquities;
punishment for our peace was on Him,
and we are healed by His wounds.

Jesus came to heal us. He came to make me whole in every way, and I am so grateful to Him for all He has done. He paid a great price to obtain a great redemption for someone who deserved nothing. I am so grateful.

When sickness tries to attack my body I remember this verse. It part of what Jesus paid to give me. As people give me presents at Christmas I receive them gratefully knowing it is what they want to do, they want me to have that gift. So it is with the greatest gift of all. I receive eternal life, healing for my body, and so much more. The greatest of all is the love. He is with me. That's better than anything!

Amen Cindy! I think many people stay sick much longer than necessary because they rely on the world's responses instead of the Lord's prescriptions!

Along the lines of the scripture you shared, in terms of believing God to heal you, give you eternal life, etc., another of my favorite versus is:

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33

While this scripture is speaking to food, clothing, and shelter, I feel that we forget that if the Lord will feed us, give us drink, and shelter us, why would He not also take care of the body he is feeding, nourishing, clothing, and protecting? It seems like I wouldn't feed a hamster but keep it sick instead of ensuring it receives the appropriate care!

“This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”- Isaiah 43:16, 18-19

This helps me to press on to the greater glory in Jesus.

Dear CF'ers -

One of my favorite scriptures -

Psalm 34:1-3 (King James Version)

Psalm 34

1I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

</H2>When hard times come, and they have for our family lately, I remember to praise the Almighty God. Regardless of circumstance, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever - and SO worthy of my adoration and praise. Just this simple act of obedience (praising Him) calms my soul, lifts my spirit and puts circumstance into its proper prospective.

If hard times should continue...I will always praise Him...FOR HE IS WORTHY!

Yes, yes, yes! He is!

I love that verse too, in fact, all of Psalm 34. These particular verses I put to memory, embedding them in my heart some years ago. It is clear the LORD is our protector and will provide all we need. Just taste and see how good He is!
7 The angel of the LORD encamps
around those who fear Him, and rescues them.

8 Taste and see that the LORD is good.
How happy is the man who takes refuge in Him!

9 Fear the LORD, you His saints,
for those who fear Him lack nothing.

While I too love all of this Psalm, these verses in particular speak powerfully to me - How HAPPY .... HAPPY... Lack NOTHING...NOTHING... I can be happy and lack nothing simply by taking refuge in Him and fearing Him. Really?! Really!!! It is that easy. We just have to come to Him, surrender to Him, yield to the Spirit, commit to Jesus, and allow ourselves to get out of the way and just find complete and utter safety and completeness in the Lord - just fear Him and know that He is God - and we can be happy and lack nothing. According to His will, we shall have all riches and glory and live lives of total happiness, lacking nothing that we require to survive and thrive. Believe it. Accept it. Conquer it. Take it in. Live it!!!!!

Somebody beat me to it:

There is a scripture that says "this is eternal life, to know God and Him who He sent, Jesus Christ" I would love spending eternity doing that.

John 17; the greatest sermon ever preached, is a prayer. (Stephen's comes in second ;))

This deserves another go-round:

And the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6.17.

The Holy Spirit alone can wield the Sword of the Spirit (which is the word and truth of God). For the flesh to use the Sword of the Spirit is like David trying to wear Saul&#8217;s armor that was totally unfit for battling Goliath.

I have three (my signature):

Psalm 115:16 - "The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to man." It seems that so much of Christianity revolves around God giving us Jesus (as it should be), but I think that more attention should be given to the fact that God created the earth for us and we are its owners. In times of international crisis, national tragedy and local troubles this verse reminds me that what's happening wasn't on the will of God, but of man.

Romans 14:14 - "&#8230; If anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean." A verse that really opens the Bible up to me, and how it is a personal book read differently by every person who opens it.

Ecclesiastes 8:15 - "So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad ..." A Christian life isn't a boring life! Yes it's a rehearsal, but if we don't enjoy it on the way then something's gone wrong. Life is meant to be enjoyed and that is something that every person - Christian or not - should be seeking.

That contracts what God showed Peter. I like this verse because it says to place Jesus first.

Phil 2:9-11
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father

On that note this one has always given me strength:

"And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." Rev 19:15-16

Goes back to what magentic said, and a little tie in to that:

a few days before G-d had shown me that a new Christian isn't ready to don our full armor. In our zeal and haste we pick up the nearest thing, rush off, and kill some giants. It's after we've "conquered some ground" and mature that we need to be able to stand fast and defend, and so become more able / willing to listen.
