My favorite (right now) is a NASB, only had it about a year but it is the most comfortable for me to read of all the others I've tried so far. Since it's fairly new it's not marked up alot yet and the binding is still good and tight, but there is a small coffee stain on the first few pages. It's average size (not thinline, but not a boomer), navy bonded leather (not the expensive leather), thumb indexed (gotta have), not alot of study notes but good references (which I prefer to notes), cost me about $55.
I do keep it in a plain burgundy fabric cover because I've learned over the years that it really helps to keep the binding more intact, as well as keeping my notepad and pen handy. I use a colored ink pen for underlining/note taking --- one of those with four colors in one barrel. I have an attachable ribbon marker that my daughter gave me with 5 ribbons on it and 2 other laminated bookmarks with short biographies and pictures of my Grandma and my Aunt, both of who were very special to me.
I'd really like to try the ESV that I keep hearing about, and also a Thompson. I must go shopping!
