Where is The Eucharist in this?
Do you take communion at the same time as
you're singing?

When does this Church (in this video) "Do this" in rememberance of me.
Bummer, you obviously missed the message.

I bet they don't.
Did you watch the entire video?
How coudl you miss the communion?

And if you asked them why... they would say theres just too many of them.
I see, they dont look the 'obedient' type do they?

Forgive me...
LOL>
My ex used to yell at me often,
he had a problem with criticism,
so he'd gripe and complain and
then after every session, he'd
phone me and say he was sorry.
In fact, when I talk to him on
the phone,,, he sometimes
STILL does that.
Funny though, I knew it
was genuine.

They are both a part of the same Tradition. The Didache does not contradict the Holy Scriptures.

Love,
Christina

I give this post 4 thumbs up!

Ebert would have agreed with me, i know this.

I think our friends do not understand the scriptures enough in order to see how they work together.

Add me to the end of that waiting line as well.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me the sinner.
Since it isnt known when the Scroll was written,
or even for certain, who it was written by,
and since it wasnt considered Scripture,
then his position seems logical.

Glad to see the Orthodox agreeing with the Catholics.

What would it take for Orthodoxs to come under Pope

quote: The Pope would renounce his Roman Catholicism and become Orthodox. There is nothing that would cause the Church as a whole to join with him.

Where does it contradict Scripture?

In all kinds of places. It is therefore never claimed to be inspired, nor recognized as authorized by the 12 Apostles. However, already in the title it claims that authority as being "the Lord's teachings through the twelve Apostles". So, if that were true then the entire document MUST be in harmony with the Scriptures: it is not.

It is a compilation of biblical teachings (or rather a flavor thereof) mixed up with (legalistic) interpretations.

It begins with the 2 ways for almost half of the document but NEVER preaches the Gospel!!! Do this, do that, so typical of early legalistic tendencies: works of the flesh. Absolutely contrary to the teachings of the NT especially Galatians and Hebrews.

Hypocrites are distinguished because they fast on the wrong days of the week!!!

It misquotes and misinterprets: it has no authority whatsoever.

Acts 6:10 And not they were strong/iscuon <2480> (5707) to withstand to the wisdom and to the Spirit to which he talked.
Acts 7:1 And the high priest said, Are these things so?
54 Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed upon him with their teeth.
59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [the Lord], and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit"

You're certainly correct about that.

Again, correct. The only real issue is this--how much of the change that occurred is a violation of Biblical principles, adn how much of it is harmless?

Interesting. The same greek word used in Acts 6 is also used in Revelation 12!!!!

It gives some explicit examples of praxis that the Scriptures implicitly imply. For example, how to administer the Sacrament of Baptism. As far as works of the flesh . . . like feeding the hungry, visiting the sick and elderly, prison ministry, taking care of the orphans and widows, fasting, prayer, . . For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Christina

Is any history verifiable outside of the Scriptures?

Only if we need to prove the Bible to the atheists, Jews and Muslims. As far as I can see, only Josephus provides us with the history of the Last Days of the OC Jewish Nation.

Luke 21:22 "That days of vengeance these are, of the to be filled all-things, the having been written.
23 "Woe yet to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress upon the land and wrath on the people, these

John 11:48 "If ever we may be letting Him thus, all shall be believing into Him, and shall be coming the Romans and they shall be taking away of us and the Place and the Nation.

................The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover. At this season multitudes came up from all the surrounding country, and from distant parts, to keep the festival and the city was at this time crowded with Jewish strangers,...........

.......The Temple now presented little more than a heap of ruins

Legalism = work of the flesh. Whoever the writer(s) was(were) they wanted to impose their law as to how one should be baptized etc.. You really think the jailor of Philippi had fasted the day prior to the night in which he was converted and baptized???

The Didache is just a bunch of baloney of an imposter.

Fasting prior to baptism is the ideal, just as the Didache gives the ideal for water baptism, yet gives other praxis if this ideal is not possible . . .

Chapter 7. Concerning Baptism. And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living water. But if you have no living water, baptize into other water; and if you cannot do so in cold water, do so in warm. But if you have neither, pour out water three times upon the head into the name of Father and Son and Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whoever else can; but you shall order the baptized to fast one or two days before.

Love,
Christina
