  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

you'll hate this thread, I guarantee it. (2)

GOOD FOR YOU.

if that was the point of the thread then why argue?
because everyone has decided to tell me I am wrong for having this belief.
and what was that all about us... the ones with the prayer book .... being sinning???
I did not say that. read it again.

LOL.... you really make no sense.....You either think you are right or you do not...
I think I am right in what would be wrong for ME to do. What is right or wrong for you in this matter, is between you and God.

which way would it go???
Are we going to hell for praying with prayer books or it is okay?
I've never said it was wrong for you to do it. I've said it about ten times now. DO try and pay attention.
Maybe Christ repeating the same prayer over at Gethsemane was wrong doing that too?
did we miss the point? I think we did!

God could turn around and telll him....Sorry I want "creativity".....

I am in tears laughing sorry can not help it.............................................lol...............^_^ :ebil:
I'm sure you can't. We all tend to mock what we don't get.

Also if your wife thinks telling her that you love her is .... "boring" and too repetitious... well... that is ...different (??)  no comment:swoon: .
I explained this too, or were you not reading?

oh, but it's NOT personal, if we're to believe others.

and they will peck you until you snap if you don't agree.
I don't understand how conversation with God is NOT personal? Unless you include others in on it, it is very personal. I don't like people butting in on me when I'm conversating with someone privately. =\ Meh. I know what I know, continue with the blood bath.

Anyone know where love is among Christians who disagree or feel self righteous?

Anyone on a vote for a new title beyond Christian? At times I'm so ashamed, not of God, but of my own kind. :(

I believe it's personal too. However I think, if my understanding is correct, that one poster believes that the meaning is diminished if one uses another's prayer (format), such as a prayer book.

I actually find it very helpful and am happy to admit that the Saints say it better than I ever could.

And to one person meat and the other veggies...

I don't like reading off a script of prayer myself either, but if you want to and it gets you going, then go for it. What does it matter to me and who am I to say anything about another Lord's servant? So long as he remains faithful to our Lord. As long as we are both progressing, the I see no point in arguing about it. Already the fruit of this is not encouraging and uplifting to hear... Thus... if you want to know truth, continuing with this would be a sin. We are not to partake in pointless rants/arguments and words are now being exchanged that are not uplifting nor encouraging to hear.

It's best to just understand each other or leave it alone...

Sure thing. Now we can get back to any Protestants showing me where Scripture says Scripture alone should be counted.
Do you consider yourself more highly because you aren't "protestant"? Out of curiosity, many have this interesting ego and seem to act this way. Could be wrong though, hard to see emotions and attitudes over the 'net.
