... when teenagers call you "Ma'am." When did age thirty five make me "Ma'am-able?" Mahem maybe... but "ma'am" makes me feel REALLY old. I just turned 36 today... so that makes me even more "ma'am-able."

Age before beauty

Trust me, 36 isn't old (at least I don't think so)! What does makes you wonder is posting in a forum that lists 'singles in the _later_ stages of their lives' - get me a banana peel to stand on as I hobble by!

It's just that this culture is severely youth driven. :^)

KeilCoppes!

So true! I had a woman mistake me for 25 this morning. She said I look so young and have such smooth skin. Age is a reality... but it's also an attitude. I know some really young grandparents and some really old kids.

I'm personally praying for a Christ-driven culture. :)

That's a good mistake and a blessing beyond what many people receive. One of the girls I grew up with married an unbeliever and an irresponsible one at that. When I saw her eight years ago she looked like she had been through the war and all her youth had been stripped away, both inside and outside - she was worn and beaten.

Curiously, I look 8-10 years younger than I am. When I was growing up I had a mature spirit and now I seem to have a timeless one - blessings of knowing older friends who look on life with constant hope. I think that the youth of your spirit has to do with who your God is. If your God can do anything and you see the wonders of His creation with infinite hope... you will be young, hopeful and fresh. If you trust in it while still knowing how people truly are... you will start to be wise. If you have both, then that's a great blessing.

And a Christ-driven culture spreading to the churches and beyond would be _fantastic_. Well, off to the store in the culture I live in.

You remember when saying "groovy" was "groovy".
You remember psychedelic colors.

You know you're getting old when you get your trunk out of storage at your parent's house and it's filled with 45's and LPs. Now where am I going to get a record player to play these relics on? Remember the needles that record players had? Do they even make those things anymore???

When did Tower Records become Tower CDs?

Everyone thinks I'm older when they look at me... those must be the days I didn't shave ? :sorry:

You know you're getting old when you remember paying extra money to get the computer with the big 32K memory and not only were there no laptops, but getting a graphics card was a big deal...

To go with this...

You know you're getting old when 386's were HOT and FAST computers and you had to buy your math co-processor separately.

(even the 186's were blazing fast) :^)

You know you're getting old when you remember when 8 inch floppies were new after having used 16-inch disk packs. 'Fraid I never used punch cards - I'm not that old! That would be my office partner (age 62 and the best detail software engineer I've ever met).

I don't remember 8" floppies, but do remember the 5.25" floppies that really were floppy compared to the 3.5" floppies of soon past days....

You know you are getting old when the Rock music of your prime years (80's) is now played on the Oldies station!
