I was just thinking about Paul's instructions.
Making a decision for marriage and family is done so
in the acknowledgment of the higher degree of difficulty
in remaining mindful of "the things of the Lord".
And yet, the same Paul said "Do all things as unto the Lord"?
In this we are to exhort one another. The body of Christ will
always be the safest place for a family.

So what must our attitude be toward judgment?
1 Corinthians 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.

That really is an important part, and it is so hard.
Hypocrisy seems to be such an innate part of human nature

Every time I am angered
I devalue the one that has angered me
God save me from myself
And God save others from me

I spent a lot of time meditating on this verse:
Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit,
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

One of many realizations from receiving the lessons of this chapter,
is that "the knowledge of the holy" does not make me better than
others, it makes more accountable to others.

I was recently pondering the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke 18, imagining a third man in the pews. The third man (often myself) says "thank God I'm not like that Pharisee".

But there's still only 1 that leaves justified

When I am in intercession, I sometimes drum my chest with my fist
in honor of the wonderful testimony of the way the "sinner" prayed.
It reminds me of these words of David:
"A broken and contrite heart you will not despise."

That that Spirit may bear good fruit
In abundance

And others
