A man, who said he was transgendered, was arrested after he allegedly stripped naked in the women's locker room at a Planet Fitness gym in North Carolina and exposed himself to a minor.

No seriously, that thing that basically all conservatives said would happen when liberals passed laws to allow men into women's only spaces like restrooms and locker rooms and showers....keeps happening in these establishments that have allowed men into women's spaces.

"It’s a man, but he says he identifies as a woman, and he won’t leave the restroom," the 911 caller told an emergency dispatcher. "But he is just walking around showing us his — and he won’t leave."

I recall posters saying this wouldn't be a problem because "what kind of man is going to claim to be a woman just to use the women's restroom?" Fortunately, there's a picture of the deviant for those who posted such things in the past.

I know that some people here will doubt it....but I've even seen posters suggest this is the problem of the old lady who called 911 and the 17yo girl who felt "uncomfortable" with this man in the women's locker room. Before anyone suggests that this man isn't supposed to be in the women's locker room....note that he did say the magic words "I identify as a woman" so according to policy, both of Planet Fitness and this administration, he should be able to use the women's locker room.

I think it's time to see a planet get legitimately demoted.

Pluto was demoted in 2006, so hopefully Planet Fitness gets demoted in 2024.

I think this is evidence of what happens when the attempt to solve a problem doesn't involve any sort of common sense limiting principle.

On the liberal extreme of "as long as someone says they feel like a woman, that's good enough, they get to go into the womens locker room", you end up with people like this strolling into the women/girls changing facility:

On the conservative extreme, you have the position of "if you're born male, you have to use the mens/boys changing facility, no exceptions", which means that Blaire White will be changing and showering in there with adolescent males

Which I think goes without saying...if Blaire was in there undressing around peoples' sons, the same people would have a problem with it.


So that gets us back to the age old question, what do we do? I know progressives aren't keen on using the "passable" standard as a basis for this, but it would solve a lot of problems and be the path of least resistance from my vantage point.

This idea of 'we have to structure our entire society around a 0.5% outlier and the other 95.5% just has to get used to it' clearly isn't yielding good results in terms of cohesiveness.

People with male genital's do not belong in women's locker rooms and in women's sports. They would have to be castrated to qualify as a women. I understand that they have rights but those rights only go so far. Of course if a women wants to enter into a male locker room and expose herself, I do not think anyone would object to that. But for some reason women object to flashers that want to expose themselves.

Even if they are castrated they still aren’t women. They are men who have been castrated. You cannot change your sex and that’s a fact.

Maybe, they do not like women using the mans restroom. Although I personally would have no problem with coed bathrooms. I would be more comfortable with women watching me pee than with men watching me.

I think if they allowed or didn’t allow people to use the locker room associated with their declared gender, this person still would have found a reason to go into the women’s locker room to do what he did. I don’t think a policy that said “people must go to the locker room that is associated with their physiological birth gender” would have made him say “oh man, I can’t go in there.”
