They didn't all urinary and deficate together before then either. Before then you didn't have men and women using tye same bathroom sitting side by side on toilet.

In many cases you did.
And maybe in the wild tribes of Britain they did, but I certainly aren't hoping you are making an argument that the barbarians did it so we should too.

No, I most certainly am not making that argument.
We became civilized and while it's taken time we gave up barbarism.
We must give up barbarism by ensuring we follow strict social adherence to modesty taboos. ^_^

You mean back before there were public toilets and the residents of a tenement apartment house shared a one-holer in the back yard? Like in the 19th century?

But I would like to know why the situation is not symmetrical between men and women (post #92)

Many women, and men too, are body shy and don't particularly like being naked around others, regardless of gender. Men are expected to put up with it, and even women using men's "private spaces" doesn't seem like such a big deal to anybody. The question is, why are the situations not symmetrical?

Rhats part of being civilized. It's why we don't find it okay to rut in the streets. Or touch in a theater or run around naked when the weather is nice. What an odd thing to laugh at.

You most certainly are if you are using barbaric practices to support your assertions.

All societies have modesty taboos of some kind or another. even "barbarians." The question is, why should this society enforce yours?

My question is why does it look like you don't have a problem with biological males and females using the same locker rooms with each other at the same time?

I think you need to go over what you just said. Becauae what you said supported my point 100%.

Sexism obviously. Men are expected to be gentlemen and respect women. I've seen women do that and, but men are often too gentlemanly to say anything to a woman about it. Its obvious to us that she isn't doing it casually but is in an emergency situation. We understand that women don't have the same bladder control and can easily urinate in their pants. We know it's embarrassing her to be there and she wouldn't be if she didn't have to be. No sense in embarrassing her further and either challenging her or refusing her and forcing her to pee her pants.

I have four daughters, so understand emergencies in that area. And I'm willing to make exceptions for emergencies because I respect women.

I dont respect Men who are acting like they are a woman.

Because I don't really care if they do. I recognize that other people are uncomfortable with it, so my question is in general, why do they care so much? To that end, I wondered why they seem to care more about a man going into a women's rest room than a woman going into a man's rest room. If people are uncomfortable because of something I want to do. it's only fair to try to accommodate them and in order to do that I have to understand why they feel that way.

Yes, just ask the British. It is civilized to kill people and take their land as long as no one sees each others pink bits!

I'm not making an argument. I simply noted an aside in passing.

Or the need isn't urgent but they just don't want to wait in a long line. Why is it a big deal? My daughter works in a machine shop where there is only one industrial type bathroom on the shop floor. The only women's is upstairs way at the back of the offices, so she uses the men's. Guess what? Nobody cares.

So it's all about expected superficial social roles for men and women? Is that it?

Why do you not care that a biological man would be naked in a locker room with biological women? Do you really believe that such a situation could not easily lead to sexual crimes???

Actual mental health professionals say it is not. I believe them.

I fail to see comfort as a metric for limiting others.
Ok.

Not referring to you, but why would a biological male use the woman’s restroom when he truly knows he isn’t female? It’s creepy.

Or they just don't care.
It's obvious from threads of this nature that some don't.
My daughter works in a machine shop where there is only one industrial type bathroom on the shop floor. The only women's is upstairs way at the back of the offices, so she uses the men's. Guess what? Nobody cares.
So she just walks in while men are urinating?
Nobody cares.
I think they do if she just trounces in while they are urinating. They just don't want to say anything.
So it's all about expected superficial social roles for men and women? Is that it?
I was referring to autogynaphelia. May I should have been more clear.
