And I wouldn't want to be you. Living according to the letter, contrary to what the bible teaches. Believing that the law is the ministry of Life when it is actually the ministry of Death. It wasn't given to be a "rule of life" but to make sin exceedingly sinful and ultimately kill us.Then I would not want to be you.

I used to be you, by the way, and I've experienced first hand how true it is that the commandment is the power of sin. Indeed, when the commandment came, sin sprang to life. And I've experienced the liberty in the fact that apart from the law, sin is DEAD. Realizing that I was dead to the law instantly set me free from drug addiction, for example.

But the primary 2 commandments are repeated By Jesus and the disciples are able to be fulfilled through obedience to the Holy Spirit in a walk with Hiim.
Can somebody answer this. The Original question was do the 10 commandments matter today.
If pleasing God matters to us, then yes, the ten matter.
Are the 10 what matters in regards to salvation? No. Christ is.
But, how can you love and follow Christ and NOT care about what pleases or displeases God?
Can somebody answer this.
Told on this thread more than enough:
Galatians 5:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24And
they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
The Law stands and remains upheld just as the hands of Moses were upheld...against the LAWLESS to "expose" them and "reveal" them.
The LAW in the hand of the child of God is our ALLY against our ENEMIES in our own flesh unto whom it is AGAINST.
We live in Grace through LOVE.
All attempts to make the lawless in the flesh "lawful" only serves to EMPOWER that lawlessness.
LOVE never fails. Love condemns the LAWLESS and LOVES our fellow man.
enjoy!

I think Romans 7 has something to do with this. Can somebody answer this.

Now since I see that squint has already posted in this section, I'd inform him beforehand that his posts will not be read by me nor responded to. But offer response he may.
Squint has some good points about being non judgemental and non-condemning, but here is a doctrine of scripture that consistently teaches that it is those who believe on the Son of God (Jesus) who have access to His Holy Spirit to guide them to Please the father. This process of learning to please God by being not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind; is not available to those outside of faith in Christ,
DESPITE them having both a good and bad nature and also DESPITE having God-like dignity and retaining an image of being created in the Image of God. From Romans 8 itself; Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
I agree........Interesting discussion.
