[Holy Warrior]

'Woah, look out!' came a cry from behind Angel as she stood up. Whirling around, she was just in time to see a guy flying through the air towards her. He crashed into her and the two went rolling on the grass.

'Sorry bout that, lost control for a sec. Are you ok?' he said as he helped her up. 'Hope I didn't cause too much damage! You're new here, right? I noticed you in the canteen earlier. I'm Will, by the way, though mostly people call me Blades.'

Angel laughed as she brushed the dirt off her clothing.
"It's fine! I'm Angel. Nice to meet you Blades."
She wondered why she seemed to meet everyone in the bathroom...
"Shouldn't you be in class?"

'Aye, probably. It's only English, though, and since I've lived in an English-speaking country all my life, it seemed like a waste of time. Seriously though, they're doing The Merchant of Venice. I did that last year at my old school, so I know enough to pass the exam. Basically I get this period free this term. Mrs Johnson's good like that.'

Blades sighed as the rain came on. His hand stretched and twisted, and suddenly became an umbrella, which he held over Angel.

'Wouldnt be much of a gentleman if I let a lady get wet,' he said, grinning. 'Come on, let's get inside before we're soaked. Why were you out here anyway, if you don't mind me asking?'

OOC: I do better with script form...

Angel: Not at all. I had permission to be out of class for a few days so I decided to familiarize myself with the campus. I don't think I'm doing very well, though. All I've managed to figure out is just how easy it is to get lost.
A man in a black suit walked by. Angel followed him with her eyes.
Angel: Doesn't it ever bother you that we are locked in here with men like that buzzing around the place?

OOC: that's cool, I'll probably end up switching back and forth between prose and script without realising it. Who knows, I may even throw in a bit of poetry for good measure

IC: 'It does a bit, yeah. I didn't exactly choose to be here-I've been in here pretty much since I stepped off the plane.'

Just then a bell rang.

'Look, I've got class now, but I'm in no rush. I'll help you find your way back to your room first, if you want-any excuse to get out of maths! Say, what are you doing for lunch? If you want I could meet up with you, grab a bite to eat and show you around. How about outside the dining hall at the start of the break?'

Angel: Sounds lovely! Thank you.
She followed him back to her floor and then led him to her door.
Angel: Thanks again, for everything. It helps to have friends when in situations like these.

 

[Holy Warrior]

'Hey, no worries! We're all in this together. Anyway, I'd better leg it. It's been great to meet you. I'll see you at lunchtime- we can talk more then.'

With that, his feet become his trademark skates and he speeds off down the corridor.

When the lunchbell rang, Will hurried off towards the canteen to meet Angel. Unable to see her in the crowd that was milling around in the corridor, he morphed his feet into stilts and rose above the crowd, but still couldn't locate his new friend.

'Maybe she's just got lost. If I hang about a wee while she'll probably turn up,' he thought.

Angel entered the hallway to be greeted by a large crowd.
Angel: Oh, goody...
She thought about using her electricty as a flare but that probably wouldn't be a smart move with people bumping into her and such. Finally, she spotted Blades.
Angel: Blades! Over here!

Pushing his way through the crowd, Blades finally came face to face with Angel.

'It's always a nightmare here at this time. Why don't we go for a walk now and come back when things have calmed down a bit? Unless you're really hungry now, that is.'

Angel: Sounds good to me. I would love to see the library around here! That is, you do have one, right?
She looked hopeful.

'Yeah sure, right this way.'

The two walked down the corridor away from the crush of students, and Will pointed out the various departments they passed along the way. Soon they came to the practically deserted library. The librarian, a surly middle-aged woman, scowled at them as they entered, and pointed to the 'silence' notice. The room was otherwise devoid of people.

'Well, this is the library,' whispered Will. 'There's not generally a lot of activity down here-the old gasbag at the desk puts most people off. Some people say she's a telepath, but I think she's just got abnormally sensitive hearing. Come on, let's get out of here. You want to see the playing fields? We can head round the outside on the way back to the dining hall.'

Wandering slowly past the kitchens, the smell of cooking filling the cold air, they turned a corner to see a group of youths. A boy of 16, whose lower half was shaped like a serpent, had cornered a smaller hispanic boy, whilst the others, a sharp-faced girl with straight black hair and a thin, deathly white boy, looked on laughing. Noticing the newcomers, the girl turned round and sneered, 'Get out of here. This is none of your business.'

'Well I'm making it my business. Let him go,' said Blades, calmly, his feet morphing slowly into their natural form.

'Oh yeah?' said the snake-boy, wrapping his lower body round the helpless youngster. 'You want him, you come and get him!'

Joseph and Outsider walked around. Joseph did most of the talking, while Outsider only listened and occasionally laughed. They happened upon a small group. One guy was a half serpent, and he was picking on another boy. No one, save Angel and another guy, were doing anything about it. Outsider recognized the boy who was being picked on. He had been going here for quite a while. He'd always smile at her, whenever they passed each other.

The half serpent dude was arguing with the guy who seemed to have blades for feet. Outsider was fed up with all of the arguing that had been going on for the past few months. She concetrated on a spot on the wall next to the serpent dudes head. Electricity bolted from her eyes and hit the wall, causing him to jump. Outsider didn't say anything and decided to let Blades continue talking.

Angel turned to find Outsider standing behind her along with another guy. She smiled warmly as a greeting. Then, her attention turned back to the bullies. The half serpent had released the boy, if only for a moment, giving them the chance to retrieve him. Forming small globes of white electricty, she took aim and rolled the balls toward the group. Each one crackled loudly as they struck their targets.

Blades concentrated, and a tonfa appeared in each hand. 'Why does it always come to this?' he thought. He dodged to one side as the girl, seemingly immune to the electricity, ran at him with fists wreathed in an ice-blue flame, the weapon in his hand lengthening to trip up his attacker.The puddles on the ground froze instantly as she touched them, then cracked as her full weight came down on top.

Meanwhile, the pale youth rose into the air, his long black coat rippling softly in the breeze. He looked at Joseph, his eyes glowing with a strange green light, and suddenly Joseph found himself rooted to the spot, his muscles simply refusing to obey his commands.

Outsider, not wanting to cause any more damage, stood still watching. Unless she had to, she wouldn't use her mutation.

Angel decided it was time to go. While Blades distracted the ghostly boy, she made an attempt to run to the hispanic one. When she was almost close enough to reach to him, she felt herself freeze in place.
Angel: What is this?
Suddenly, she disappeared and the pale one lost his control over her. She, then, reappeared and ran to the smaller boy. With her hand touching his, they both disappeared again.

Seeing that Angel had got the youngster out of harm's way, Blades turned to find the dark-haired girl had got up, and, along with the half-serpent, was advancing towards him again, more cautiously this time. They spread out, circling him, intending to trap him between them, while the pale, floating figure moved towards the Outsider.

From the basic self defence classes he had taken before his mutation had manifested, he knew that this was not a good position to be in. His mind raced, and inspired by the most unlikely of sources, morphed his feet into springs and jumped unnaturally high into the air and landed on the ledge above the kitchen door. From here he launched himself through the air towards the airborne figure, hands elongating into ropelike tentacles and dragging the youth down. They hit the ground rolling, the fall knocking the wind out of them both and breaking the pale boy's concentration.

Angel saw a moment to get the innocent guy out of the fight and took it. She reappeared right where she had disappeared and made a run for the main building, only to be stopped by three men and a woman. They all had some sort of gun at their sides that looked like something out of a sci-fi movie.
Angel (thinking): Negative-mutation guns?!
Man 1: Cease this fight at once!
Angel: We don't want any trouble, sir! We just didn't want to see anyone bullied.
The man turned to her.
Man 1: Silence! It is my understanding that you have already caused quite a stir today already! We are growing impatient with you, Elizabeth. We have been easy on you because of the loss of your father but this is more than is excusable.
Angel: What, exactly, are you getting at?
Man 1: Any further trouble and you will punished harshly. Now get to class! All of you!

Twitch had been in class when the fight had occured. Man, if I'd been there, there would have been mayhem. I mean, I've got all the TIME in the world!! he thought. He laughed silently in his head. If he had been in that fight, he could have slowed time down for those bullies, and then they'd have been in trouble. He could pop them up in the air and give them a severe beating before they hit the floor!!! The instructor droned on. Now if only i could speed time up, that'd be something!
