  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

“...well now goblin...” the muse's voice was quite pragmatic about it, continuing “...forumland is like a forest where these forums are its trees and where you posters settle or roam amongst its branches...”, whereupon she smiled, adding “...ah, but like any forest goblin, one needs to know were one is going to walk across its surface, and yet, if one doesn't have a strong sense of direction, nor notice the passing of time within its endless turnings, one might lose one's way growing old with nothing to show for it, so be careful about forumland my little goblin, do not lose yourself within it lest arrive at self not knowing why...”

threads here lose the fight at 1,000 it seems my friend much to my chagrin and Chrisbot starts a new one for us automatically and with the new thread started it begins at #1 once more...i suspect if this thread continued, uninterrupted, it would pass the 10,000 mark..

*...then brinny realizes that her friend meant "hits" and not necessarily "posts" and laughs at her own ditz-i-ness*

"...wow, now I remember what a day off is..." said the goblin who had been working non stop for weeks now, where outside the grand metropolis of geneva just awaited all its minion's indulgences once more ever at its price, and yet the goblin himself had learned to live without much beyond his bistro's coffee and the WIFI, in fact looking from the outside now, that pigeonhole of working family man beckoned him neatly into it, but no, there was always something about the goblin which didn't quite succumb to this stereotype here, just his persona kept poking out of his dailylife where he and his dailylife often diverged in this way, simply at his age he couldn't buy into the values of dailylife anymore

repost form elsewhere, a woman's interest(read mommies) "last post" thread

addressed to the leader of the women's movement

Dear Madame,
If I may just draw your attention to pitfall in withdrawing religious teaching in your movement, that is to say that to date most women have been taught "Jam and Jerusalem" in equal proportion within your movement, whereas one notes that if one were to continue the withdrawal the Jerusalem side your minions will delve ever further into the jam side of things, and jam as we know is in fact a preservative meaning that it is only a short step from the simply preservation of things to their own mummification with the dire consequences one now sees across those women's interest sites, especially on "last post" threads, where those symptoms are, a proliferation of mummies posting all manner cute postable thingies, strange rantings about washing powders, stomping, and above all, living under some strange delusion that the goblin's very own "last post franchise" is somehow theirs now, anyway your attention into this matter, between shopping sprees, lady's nights and the adoration of little pets would be deeply appreciated, I remain.,

Your sinfully,
A. Fleamailman

"...at any rate I'll never go there again..." said the goblin as he picked his way through his mailbox, "...for the life of me, those are the silliest edit thread tea-parties I ever was at..." and just as the goblin said this, the goblin noticed that yet another email had the words oh how I hate editing posts, reply notification, "...oh, now that is very curious.." the goblin thought. "...oh but everything is curious today. I think I should go back there and see then..." as the goblin pressed the link which then reads "I win", "...curiouser and curiouser..." exclaimed the goblin continuing "...but we'll soon see about that though..." as the goblin readies his reply and posts "...mortals you step away from sanity if you continue down this path with me here..." but the goblin guessed that it was already too late for many, sanity had never been much fun it seemed

I climbed an ivory tower
to the pool of my delusion
and there I drank a sadness
whose taste betrayed a path I chose not to walk
I descended from thence
to find myself aloft
and there in the presence of sweet April rain
I smiled and slept in bronzed arms
inhaling wisps of silken dew
Prevailing silver streams
did not adhere to my imagination
so I awoke on sheets of splendor
and soared a while
to bemuse the dreams that had yet eluded me .

"...very inspirational Michealismyname, I like that poem indeed..." went the goblin hoping there was more, before returning to something previous, explaining "...a high postcount is something one can create for oneself if one posts often enough, however a high hitcount is something given to one by one's readers, where for example that lupusbot thread, the one you stumbled across brinny, often gets a thousand hits per post, not that that mean all that much to me for I will never step out of my anonymity here, though it does kind of give short shift to those who say I'm not a livewriter worthy of my pen now...", whereupon the goblin laughed upon remembering the time he got banned for his retorting look first get the hitcount and then school me if you must, adding "....not that that ban actually changed the validity of the retort for as goes the hitcount goes the livewriter, and yes I'm racing death too, yet without death chasing me perhaps I would have never rendered unto what is within me that which does not belong to ceasar without me..."

You are very weird.

"...if that is so, I suppose the question then would be "would you like to think only normally here"..." wondered the goblin somehow knowing that that wasn't what he wanted of himself at all, "...well doesn't one's imagination tell you that there's more to life than dailylife, and that at every turning along the road, one has abnormal thoughts that one's reason keeps both in check and under control...", the goblin paused trying to find the right words to explain that balance between one's imagination on the one side, and one's reason on the other, and then continued by saying "... what if just perhaps one's imagination were like the waves where one's reason was more like gravity here, where those waves of imagination keep washing up all types of thoughts upon the shore of one's mind, where the gravity of one's own reason either then anchored them to beach there, or let them roll back into the sea to be washed up at some other time in a different way with another wave of imagination, either to be anchored or washed back once more, so this perhaps for me is my mind now, abnormal, well who knows how other people's minds think anyway...", at which point the goblin asked in return "...so do you still wish to be thinking "normally", or shouldn't you be wanting more from your imagination perhaps..."

The goblins friend said: fleamailman why don't you try posting in some of the other boards and topics too?
the goblin remembered being asked this before, perhaps many times now, replying "...simply I am over many many "last post" threads, where, in the short period that I have started writing this reply now, 2 notifications have arrived and by the time I have finished this text adding a picture a few more will be there to answer, and where it takes me anything from 10 minutes up to about an hour to make one good text as I refuse to just type just anything, plus there is the time to find the right picture too, which is not easy because I don't know what I want nor where it is, leaving me to choose the best fit instead, and only then, if everything seems right to me can I at last post the piece across those random edit threads usually adding a small individual comment in brackets above the reply/repost where need be, meaning that, unlike someone who could post to many threads on one forum, believe me I can't as this pace is hectic, and I would have stopped way back if I hadn't somehow felt this to be a journey to self here..." and with that the goblin wished well hoping that, now that he had explained it, it somehow excused him but it never did really

*brinny wonders what generated such venom....* for there is a certain dead-aiming emphasis in words of this kind....encased in an acrid tone of malice, even in print. Makes ya' wonder what kind of voice would befit such sentiment, for not just any old voice would do, no, only that voice that embodied a boiling over seethingness to it.

it was in June, June 11th, 2012 to be exact that i first caught a glimpse of her face, a face misshapen with tumors. In China, they don't take kindly to superstition-prompting visuals of which she was crowned queen. she was hated, despised, called a monster, and shunned even by healers in the medical establishment. She, being poor, was obliged to remain at the mercy of a growing population of tumors that were flourishing, even as her own life continued fading into an abysmal demise, as surely thoughts of her children, soon-to-be orphans, loomed.

Heartbreaking it was and in ways that cannot be expressed, in ways that do not require a voice, for they are murmurings of the soul. Perhaps it sounds more like a soul-stirred spiritual of the deepest-leveled kind if there was a voice that could match it, a humming if you will, and no human voice could do it justice. Thus it began, the humming. Heart and soul murmurings. and they continued. And continued...until light broke forth...and i knew He had heard us.

"Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your own kin? Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator shall go before you, the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard." ~Isaiah 58:6-8

("...thanks for the link to that chinese lady then..." mentioned the goblin noting how brinny was here so the goblin was here too, adding "...it's too late at night to hew posts now, but I'll continue in the morning where this is the only thread where I post at random in that most of my other threads are just me working steadily through the pages of my store thread, so you'll have to forgive me if I post the same post twice now, we're dealing with many thousands of posts and it's hard to keep track of them...")

repost from elsewhere, the "intro" section of a writer's forum,

"...feel yourself most welcome amongst us now, where each author becomes a reader too, and where readers are no longer those silent sheep of yesterbook..." replied the goblin as if knowing that he was addressing a talented writer here, adding "...ah yes, there are many other writer's forums out there, all helping their writers to churn out yet more books still, where in that respect then this forum is no different I suppose, and yet, am I not proof that it also caters for anyone who wishes to write directly in posts, where forum readership reflects a growing desire on the part of the readers, who have less and less time now, to read shortish content while participating too...", simply, the goblin saw it as forum/venue thread/stage and persona/act, where the biggest stumbling block was the mindset of those authors who somehow felt that their readers couldn't possibly be reading these posts too, but hopefully that mindset was changing through their own experience of forumland, adding "...no, I simply suspect that those writers have never stopped to think about just how many people browse forumland each day in search of content and from how many countries too, so now by this then you see why I'm here instead, and why too, I really have no need to be in that declining elsewhere any more even if I still like books though..."

The goblin really should be looking over his shoulder...shopping migration ? really? Seems to me, your obvious talent is writing fantasy .....And you are really good!!!
"...ah no, once you have been thoroughly stomped upon by a hoard of marauding mummies who have mistaken you for terry wogan on their way to shoe shop once more, you will learn that fantasy, this forumland then, is a very serious business indeed..." mentioned the goblin now, adding "...no, either one takes out "mommy insurance", or one blends into the scenery, or one distracts them with lines like and then he took her in to his arms, yes it had been those shoes all along, as slowly he unfastened each delicate fascinating feminine shoe-buckle knowing that his emotion was about to cave in against a inner crescendo of wild torrential passion for her, here so alone together and now too, while walking backwards gently retracing one's steps till the moment one could actually dash off...", yes, the goblin had been on "women's interest forums" before, where indeed they were very avid grazers of posts and little escaped their attention too, just that one had to become very agile amongst them

repost from elsewhere,

the goblin had stumbled across a post mortem photos stream on youtube where he was reminded of that story in the bible where god punishes king saul for having sought answers from the dead samuel through a clairvoyant, where somehow too, the goblin knew that all this victorian love of death was so wrong and that it will only bring ill on those who delve in that direction, and yet he didn't know why he knew it, just he knew it as something deep within one as so wrong beyond reason, "...just another something one knows from within then..." mentioned the goblin drawing a parallel to the black spot in treasure island, and then as if to break away form the lure of those questions it posed and those stirred emotions too, his mind fell back upon what the nun had recently posted instead, or more precisely to a simple phrase wordless prayer that had stuck in the goblin's conscience, saying "...ah no, not prayers like calculating thoughts and some shopping list towards dailylife, no, more like the connecting with a presence of something within one that has no words to describe it, that's wordless prayer to me, a connection perhaps without formal religion's preconditions now, just something I know from within again..."

memento mori - post-mortem photography, not for the sensitive, hope you share a feeling of aversion towards it

brinny contemplates the above and notes the tragedy of the sea of mouthless faces excepting the singular about-faced-one....the tragedy being that they have no voice, and even moreso, the windows to their souls are of the empty kind where there is nothing there and if there ever was has long ago died and what lives now, on and on is a living death and no voice to speak of it, thus trapped in tortured silence but not of the quiet kind.

the similarities are stunning. and leave one speechless. there is that one glaringly obvious detail however....here they are with mouths. They merely choose not to use them

"...I suppose that even my newest stuff gets posted up here eventually, but there isn't anything really "new" as whatever I do usually comes from something I wrote or thought from somewhere or sometime before if I allow myself think about it like that that is..." related the goblin whose coffee seems to float the text on here, where he continued "...ah but that's the advantage of being anonymous in this forumland, because the moment one starts to care about whether one is, or isn't, rehashing, one just becomes hindered, as if somehow looking over ones shoulder all the time, caring when how could it matter where one is entirely unknown, moreover, in polishing some idea, in its being rewritten that is, it often turns into a different creature form its parent..." ventured the goblin, who often borrowed from himself, and without shame that he did so too, in that, his pen just followed his mind that often went around in circles like this

"...have you washed your hands then..." the voice a little below his view inquired as the goblin approached the counter "...your not going near our books until..., ...", the goblin raised his hands to his ears and turned them slowly "...better, now what do you want, or should I ask, which book are looking for goblin...", the goblin gasped "...but how..., ...", "...only your type look at computers that way and only a laptop user looks for sockets this library.." a face revealed itself not as unpleasant, she focused her eyes on his as the goblin looked back "...what have you got on mummies..." her eyebrows joined in her focus "...mummies..." she repeated his word exactly either as a question or an exclamation, "...yes, I know they're all supposed to be dead thousands of years ago but not this bunch aren't I swear they're..., ..." the goblin placed a finger on his bag "...your laptop I suppose, I see..." she replied and looked down adding "...well, that would explain why there has been this sudden run on "beginner's jam-making", oh and now you mention it those " embalming for dummies" books too but..., ..." she looked back at the goblin to continue then "...my fault I suppose I started this thread called "the last person to post here wins" on a women's interest site innocently enough but it must have been some time-warp or something, they post jam pink smileys a lot too..." the goblin smiled "...in fact they're not a bad bunch but I haven't a clue what I am dealing with here...", the librarian smiled at a thought "...you know goblin, my bet is that is exactly what they are thinking about you too...." they smiled, then burst out laughing, as the goblin then passed on borrowing a book then, for somehow he knew he was on his own now, the librarian wasn't buying his story
