  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Aah, my friend there is no way of doing so, or not, without pain. It comes either way. There is a pain however that acts as a chisel to hone and hew until what is hidden inside takes form, slowly but surely, and shines as a gem with the most burnished of golden hues as we travel a journey of healing, simultaneously passing on the healing to others.

the goblin thanked xxxx, liking her works, and, although he hadn't known of that shared notebook in the cafe idea before she had mentioned here, and yes, it was the same sort of thing then, adding "...me, I'm just editing these posts into something more in tune with that which I want them to become, where first you keep me company, then at some point you think "wait a sec I could do that too", and then one of the things you post here turns out to be so good that you want to keep it, afterwards you want to post it elsewhere too, perhaps just to edit it some more or to see how it is received by others, which is the very point when you then realise why the line goblins are not to be trusted was the truth of the matter indeed, as they eagerly await your post..."

"...if that author any good he'll turn up on forumland and get himself known by his post too, where simply, someone who can't entice their readers to their posts won't get readers to read their books today via forumland...", mentioned the goblin liking xxxxx's posts indeed, as if the posts were actually an acid test of the author now, where username became authorname, and where hitcount became that author's following now, so the goblin just ventured one thing more, saying "...actually, a lot of authors don't see themselves within their posts upon these forums today, so their posts are really a sorry reflection of their other works lacking both narration illustration and punch, yet if one were to put oneself in the reader's shoes here, wouldn't one soon see that none of those ads/links/recommendations cut any ice, since who isn't here to read the posts and to interact with the author...", "...so it's that maxim of take care of the posts and the books will take care of themselves now is it goblin..." asked slot's smiling voice once more as he pointed his finger to his big open mouth again, something the goblin recognised as the slot's ever constant hunger as he hit the post button in a knowing compliance now

Apparently some of it will get published :)

Goodgoogaloogamooga! I'm praying it does. What a legacy God is unfolding before you my friend. it's a beautiful un-folding to see here from the sidelines and those unseen sidelines as all of heaven cheers you on. You are blessed and may others continue to be blessed through you.

Dear all,
Cold is king and reigns supreme in Geneva where it ushers most people in their homes and the homeless into the station where they look on as a man collects signatures for the protection of dolphins in which a country which has no sea and no dolphins, just dole-queues. Into this then the homeless face the stark choice of putting up with their day's week's month's year's and final lifetime's worth as life's losers "alone", or joining the drunks in a stupefied social-life much to the dismay of the impression conscious shopkeepers who move them constantly around the mall, this choice is simplified when that homeless person just asks himself if he has the guts to constantly face his lot or a good liver, well anyway, for me at least it forms an ironic background to “Thanksgiving” tonight.

you flea, my friend, have been holding out on me.....hiding treasures of the Dickens variety, have you? For his genius and inexplicably, timeless depth lay in treading where none dared go. And in turn those masses of unseen invisible faces, the cast aside, the forgotten, some of which were perhaps angels unawares, graced him back hundred fold, as he, and others like him, will be remembered, never to be forgotten, and dubbed with a timeless legacy that alights as a dove on each one.

Layers and layers, flea. perhaps you realize the "ordinary" is what classics surely make. for we are all ordinary. some shine with the beauty of it. Others desperately hide and despise the very thing that would gift them with a unique preciousness and unforgetableness that cleaves to the "ordinary" masses (or exceptionally insightful wise) hearts. It requires courage to be at ease about being oneself. There is after all a difference between living and just existing as demonstrated by these nuns, and others in the most unexpected of ways.

("...I like that one then..." went the goblin)

re-post from "morning/evening" thread elsewhere

"...good morning..." said the goblin aware that, if nothing in itself was actually life threatening, then the next thing down the list automatically became the most important thing in one's life, meaning that to this family, moreover the captain he married then, definitely the most important thing was that the goblin goes to the shop and gets a little plastic band to stop that leaking wash basin, or else that basin will continue leaking thus slowly filling the bucket below with water, now, the goblin, who is aware that this is all unimportant on the grand scale of the cosmos and the movement of the stars within it, intends a compromise here, in that the goblin will actually buy the little rubber band while expressly refuting its importance, along with all humanity's self importance that is, here on this thread to the disinterested members of this forum, something on par with madame bovary who, faced with how to rearrange the flowers for her husband's all so important dinner party, actually chooses white funeral carnations aware that neither her husband nor his dinner guests would follow the subtle meaning of the message, where perhaps too, if nothing humans ever do is important in itself on the grand scale of the stars, one is free in one's own insignificance, well until the captain says otherwise again

Yes, that is the problem I am facing. I would like to get another book published and again head to conventions, but as long as I stay an internet writer I really have no restrictions on what I can write. If I actually manage to gain some significant fame, I might be forced into the blandness of modern fantasy (I actually heard someone say that they felt modern sci-fi/fantasy was so standardized that it was written by computer programs with the actual writer only adding some mood and character flavor). So I believe at present life itself will keep me at home. My children are at the age where they are trying to make their own decisions, and actually seek my advice. I am however again getting tired with teaching, so looking for something else - and I really do enjoy writing.

"...ah but that is where we differ slightly, but where our hearts seem the same human then, for I have no wish to be their type of writer either, not that published writer nor that best seller type writer, for I am, and will always remain too, ever anonymous here, with only those goals of creating my persona and of following that journey to self by it..." ventured the goblin trying to keep his mind off the falling rain outside and that ever dull depressive continuation of his dailylife at this point, "...besides..." he continued "...books are all dead and published, or at least their authors have all set them in some sort of publishing cement, but not on forumland now, no here this author is me talking back to you, before you, as an author too, reply back, where simply you and I are author/reader between, for this is livewriting where the only win is to take the last post in style because it is the one that isn't dead yet, ah no, only those who don't post of themselves lose this game..." and then the slot wondered if the goblin could hurry up, because the captain could return any minute to find out that her tyranny of her household chores had not been enacted by her perpetrator of them, the goblin's fingers quickly scurried across the keyboard once more, somehow his morning procrastination was in deep peril now, as yet again dailylife called for the goblin's surrender to it

“...and may the best puppet win then...” retorted the goblin, looking the collusion and sameness between both parties in their policies and their candidates, where whatever they promise does not happen nor materialize anyway, and where the voter has no actual say nor alternative to vote for, whereupon the goblin just laughed saying “...honestly, if I was an american I would be dressing up as an indian and pouring starbuck's coffee into the hudson bay in protest, where that protest would go unrecorded of course, or forcibly dismantled by those very same authorities who approve descent and decry the loss of human rights abroad, so no, this is not the america of 1776 of course, but can someone tell me what that revolution originally wanted, and whether you have it today, surely any democracy cannot be such where a collusion of interest, between the parties and the privileged, prevails over the wishes of their electorate...”

repost from elsewhere, the "what do you need" thread

the goblin had sat a long moment at his usual table in the quiet bistro, reflecting, trying to answer the question for himself then, somewhat fruitlessly it seemed, until he just answered it to himself, saying "...I need an awesome thought then, whose thought that is doesn't really matter, but anyway something to take me out of myself awhile and return me to myself uplifted and gratified, for "people" "places" and "things" are all transient to me, no, not because they are, which of course they are too, no, more because I am transient amongst them, simply I'm passing through this life now, we all are in fact, and at times I need to remember that simple need to step out of myself to understand it better..."

the goblin almost verged upon his own sanity with some dreaded acceptance today, heaven forbid it though, it was when he admitted to himself what his heart really yearned for, yes he imagined her sitting striding him on the bed, with his ever fumbling fingers of his two most eager but grateful hands slowly proceeded upwards undoing each button in turn, and that amazing sense of christmas to it all, but no, not just in some old memory of it here, no, to actually feel her weight upon him now, with that contrast between those hard buttons and that soft fabric around them between the fingers, those cascading interfering locks perhaps, that pleasant mildly musty feminine smell, and her young guilty attentive smile upon him, followed by his arms dropping the garment over her shoulders to an unmistakable soft ocean of skin to his body's touch, "...so no, I don't want this cold sanity of my today please, nor all this "what I should be doing at my age" confinement here, when really I just want to clasp back even once to hold her within that overwhelming burning sensation of excitement and expectation once more..." confessed the goblin, aware of how it had been for him back then in those few unforgettable moments together, lamenting "...ah yes, just so much of us dies before we do..."

the goblin's work was on a three day week at this point, "...so ours is to witness then..." the goblin observed, continuing "...well, as we look on at all these failings of the moneygod that are becoming so evident and hurting the system worldwide, simply those failings were either those real or those perceived, and as such formed two separate problems here, one being the functionality of the system, the other being confidence in the system..." ventured the goblin again feeling that any solution to either one alone would not be enough to really return the situation back to the functional, confident state which had existed prier to this present day downturn, so the goblin continued, "...no, the hardest part will be restoring the confidence in the family unit, a problem one can still see in low birth rate in russia now, and in those eastern block countries since they had first embraced capitalism, anyway, at least within the american political system, there seems a sense on hope now, even if "hope is only a good breakfast" as they say...",
