Would you support a 'Christian Zone'?

The Amish have done this already and succeeded! :)
How do you define "succeeded?" Sexual abuse of women and children goes unchecked, and they shun and disown anyone who leaves.

All depends on your definition of "success."

They've been around for several generations in Pennsylvania and still going. I would call that success.
Successful in existing and preserving their way of life, then. Yes, I would agree with that.

Certainly a rousing success if that's part of their religious faith...

In any event, secular authorities, by and large, don't interfere -- and isn't that the goal of a "Christian Zone"?

I don't consider an insular society that involves unchecked sexual abuse of women and children a success by any stretch of the imagination.

I have a feeling "Christian only zones" will lead to more of this kind of behaviour.

Part of it is bc they shun those who leave, so it makes people decide to stay to be with their family & friends. Idk that just existing & keeping up things as they were hundreds of yrs ago makes them a success.

Oh you already talked about how they shun people. Sorry, I didn't read the whole page. I agree with you.

I would think the answer to that question would be obvious from history.

Hmm, well Samuel informs God that the people want a king, but God warns them that they don't. But the people insist that they do want a king. So God said, alrighty then, I'll give you a bunch of kings. Hence, the book of Kings in the bible, a long history of mostly bad corrupt kings, with a few ok ones in there.

And here we are, still believing that human leaders are superior to God.

Your thoughts?

My thoughts are that God does not exist, so we have no option besides human leaders, but I didn't think that would make for a very productive discussion.

Beyond that, though, I'm curious. Do you believe that your quality of life would be the same in an anarchist state? Do you believe we would have ever reached this point without law and order?

People believe "anarchy" means no law. But a man or woman of God lives by God's law, the highest law.

People are doing this already and they report that their quality of life is infinitely better.

Why do you need a human leader when you have God? :)

Bc the way people live matters, & the people who are put in charge have a huge impact on how people live. It's lazy to not bother to vote when you have the ability to.

I don't see God building highways or giving out passports.

I certainly don't see him putting out house fires or arresting muggers.
