Would you support a 'Christian Zone'?

Oh great, this thread again.

Here's my summary:
OP: What if we made a Christian Zone?
Person 2: Ok, what would the laws be?
OP: It's a Christian zone! Christian laws!
Person 3: But that could mean an infinite number of things. We can see from the fractal nature of your religion that there would be disagreement. Whose idea of Christianity would rule?
Various Christians: Mine, of course! The right way!
Posters: Ok, but like 5 of you just said that. So you don't want a Christian Zone, you want a You Zone. Cool bro.
We could totally recreate medieval Europe :)
As long as I get to be a Lord. Or at least a vassal.

I would be against a zone. Too easy to round us up and 'delete' us. Don't want to make it that easy for the AC.

He would still have to find the Lutherans, at least the ones who had read the words of their founder. And I'd expect the Society of Friends would also avoid any 'Christian Zone' and some of those might just find refuge in the home of an atheist.

Come to think of it if there was a 'Christian Zone' that is exactly where I'd expect the Anti Christ to rise to power and gather followers. Those who know me well are all smart enough to figure out that this is NOT saying anything bad about Christians.

Unfortunately the last paragraph might be true, but he will deceive many others as well as Christians. Mostly the whole world. So I take no offense. However I think he will be from the Islamic world, or at least through the nation of Islam.

Your thought trumps my idea. Islam exists as does the Islamic world. The Christian Zone is a sad fantasy.

As much as I love this idea, the place could turn into a cult fast. We Christians have to stay in the world and not live like hermits, even if it means being made fun of and stereotyped every day of our lives. we have to just let them insult us and say that we're dangerous to society and whatnot. If they see us turning the other cheek and resisting the thinly-veiled hatred around us, they'll stop and realize that we're human beings.

Christianity really isn't that fractal. The denominational splits are just leftovers we could fix if we wanted to. But the zone still wouldn't work.

So do you not think the Puritans had a successful community? The Amish? The Mormons?
I realize this is an old post, so I'm not expecting a response, but I wanted to comment on this in general. By what measure? You lose a lot when you choose to break away from society, like social services. For example, sexual assault against women and children is rampant in the Amish community. Who in modern society could know? Who could stop them? It goes on for years and years in some families, with little hope of being taken away by CPS or anyone else, because their way of dealing with it is essentially "We forgive him, and you have to, too, if you want to be a good Amish person." They may be an economic success, and they might get their way most of the time, but that's not all that matters.

When I first read your post I misread one word. Instead of cult fast I read cult fest.

My misreading led to an interesting image, Warring cults.

I meant that they could become a cult quickly. Lol.

Inasmuch as the actual meaning of "anti-christ" is "in place of Christ," yes. That's what I thought was one of the perceptive bits in CS Lewis' "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Last Battle"-- Lewis' "anti-Aslan" was a jackass in a lion skin.

I don't get why some religious people feel the need to force their religion on others. The choice isn't between laws based on Christianity, and laws based on modern morality... the better position to take is to have no ones morality forced on others. ie: People are free to do what they want, as long as it doesn't harm others.

That way, Christians are free to be Christians, and non-Christians are free to live by their worldview.

What you are basically saying is that you want to create a new Christian state, perhaps not even subject to the constitution. Well why would that be legitimate?

Living separate from your sort means not having to twist every element of life so as to accommodate your sort. No whining about 'offensive ' Christmas Displays in the town square as one small example. No demands for homosexual wedding licenses at the court house for another.

I've rethought this letting my dark side take over.

My dark side firmly supports this idea.

That is the dark side of an atheist.

What could be better? A society composed only of self defined and self righteous 'Christians' who want to be in a safe place free from the influence of people like me and who are actively denying the call to be a light to the world and to spread the good news.

It would be so amusing to sit and wait for them to bring Christ into disrepute.

Satan (if there is a Satan) would be overjoyed at even a serious consideration of this idea.

Creating a Christian zone was not MY fantasy. I merely pointed out what will happen, things so obvious that I would expect absolutely no prophet points for nailing it. That and pointing out how it is actually a violation of basic Christian doctrine.

Those who want roses and lilies are more apt to get a festering swamp.

Not too many people are lining up to be "fixed."

Christianity might not be, but I'd bet those lining up to enter the Christian zone would be. All the ecumenical types would remain out in places where they could interact wioth and influence non-Christians.

No you blather your Fantasy of what will happen. In Truth a Christian society would do just fine without your sort. Yours are utterly non-essential.

Well then, how do you propose to get rid of "his sort"?
