and that's where I tell you that you are dead dead wrong.

This is why your logic falls apart, Ducky, and you refuse to acknowledge it.

I used all the power I had. I said prayers. I said them over and over and over and over again, Ducky.

You know how God protected me during that? In the process of the rape, the guy got spooked by something, I kneed him in the groin and then poked him in his eyes and he took off.

I suppose that poking him was the wrong thing to do. I suppose I should've asked him if he wanted to finish raping me.
When you realize who is behind evil then you can overcome him.

So let me understand, if only good things happen then you are to be considered one of God's own.. If Bad things happen you have been fooled by Satan but still are a Christian?
No.
What of the Apostle Paul? He died in a rather terrible way was He fooled by Satan? When do you think this foolery happened? Was it at the end of His ministry or during the times He was writing the Letters that would become the majority of NT?
Paul was a specially chosen vessel.

Acts 9:15-16 (NKJV)
15 But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. 16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake."
What of Steven, Peter, and every other martyr of the Church? Were they also fooled because they did not live up to the expectations of a prosperity doctrine? Or is there an exception their?
Jesus told Peter about his death. He also could have told Stephen.
Again your teachings scream of a person who has lived a privileged and sheltered life. This in of itself in not a sin nor is it something to be ashamed of. It becomes a sin when one bends God's words to fit his particular life style.
I have trusted God is several life or death situations. You have no idea what you are saying.

You make no sense. You tell us "resist the Devil" but then we can't fight against home invaders.

Which is it??

Ducky, please at least read that link... it made everything about this discussion clear up to me.

I now understand that "those who live by the sword will fall by the sword" was about how one of the disciples made a first violent strike. I was so confused on that for the longest time.

Ok I'll check it out a little later. But it's difficult to take this guy seriously after some of the pathetic insults he hurled.

Brother they were not insults, and their wasn't any undue name calling. If you do not believe my accuzations were not accurate then simply show me were i was in error.

My choice of words do indeed point to my inability to properly or more pleasantly describe a deficiency in your theology, but at the same time the way i choose to describe your actions is the biblical way in which all who teach a non biblical doctrine are addressed. (You foolish Galatians who has bewitched you? Woe to you Pharisees and makers of the Law You hypocrits..)

If you have any other suggestions i would be happy to rephrase if you seriously look at what is being discussed.

Let go the Idea of one of us winning an argument and look at what is being discussed.

I certainly did not like being called either proud or self-righteous but we must overlook those things in the end. drich0150 is truly a good-hearted individual and has knowledge to offer, if it weren't for this discussion I might not have been pushed to question myself and find that link which explained it better than he could at the time.

I am convinced through Christ that the same can be said about myself.

I still do not feel that I could shoot to kill another person without exhausting all other options.

I think the assumption here is that all other options have been exhausted.

indeed. May God grant us wisdom, and may He prompt us to ask for it. It surely will be given.

Amen.

Of course I would kill him. He's invading my property and likely threatening my life.

The question is "would you shoot a home invader?"

Would you take a shot at the torso or the kneecap to subdue him rather than to kill him?

the knee cap, if i was a sharp-shooter, and i'd be prepared to shoot again if he's not subdued, as i'm calling 911, and warning him to freeze. Of course if he's charging at me, he gets it where he gets it, several times, to make sure i got him.

I'm ethically justified in doing either. If your question regards my personal preference, however, I would shoot to kill.

I see. And what would you do to prevent such an intrusion in the first place?

That's generally why I would choose to pay the government.

Additionally, I would probably put out some kind of sign which explains that if one enters my home without my permission, the only way he leaves is in a bodybag.
