Would you quit your job if?

Would you quit your job if you had to teach creationism in order to keep that job?

  • Yes, I would quit the job, forget the money.

Critical Thinking 101... person making the positive claim must supply proof. The burden is on you.

Here is what you don't understand: I am the one that determines the proof required.

You are? REALLY?!? Wow, Rid - you don’t mind if I call you Rid do you? - if I showed you the vote count showing I was actually elected President of the United States, would you please certify that that constitutes the proof required? Since we’re friends and all? I could make it worth your while.

If you run out of the schoolroom screaming "GAAAAAHHHHH I'M NOT TEACHING ALTERNATIVE PRESENTATIONS OF LIFE" -and- quit your job, then you are, by definition, a fanatic.

Funny, I hadn’t seen that definition in the dictionary before. But if you say it’s true then I’m sure it must be, Rid. I wonder though, if you just quit your job without the “GAAAAHHH” part … ? Never mind. No need to bother yourself with that one Rid; I’ll just double-check that dictionary. I’m sure it must be in there somewhere.

Yeah! Good point Rid! Guess they didn’t think of that one did they! You guys have to disprove creation as depicted by a literal interpreation of the Bible. And then you have to disprove every other creation story that’s ever been told. And the best part is you can never disprove any of them because any evidence you bring to bear could simply have been left by God for mysterious reasons. So good luck with that suckers. Guess your vaunted scientific method isn’t going to get you very far this time.

I'm not asking for a Nobel Prize out of you. Just simple clear thought. Or, in your case, damage assessment.

You guys see that? Rid’s not even asking for a Nobel prize! What a guy!

So you want me to acquire a Nobel Prize? What, skiing as a professional athlete on the pro water ski tour wasn't satisfactory for you? You don't ask much, do ya, eh?

You all got that? My buddy Rid’s a professional water skiier. That means he’s right and the rest of you are wrong. So stop wasting his time! I say we all sing Rid a big round of “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” and then we nominate him for that Nobel prize after all. Now who’s with me?

And we are the ones that laugh at you for making such rediculous demands.

Or, a reasonable person who refuses to teach the unreasonable.

In a similar fashion, you would have to disprove creation. But, apparently, this was an angle that you apparently failed to consider.

Done and done 150 years ago. Next?

I'm not asking for a Nobel Prize out of you. Just simple clear thought. Or, in your case, damage assessment.

Why reinvent the wheel? Or teach children how to build a square one?

So you want me to acquire a Nobel Prize? What, skiing as a professional athlete on the pro water ski tour wasn't satisfactory for you? You don't ask much, do ya, eh?

If you want anyone to teach an alternative to evolutionary theory, it would help to first have an alternative that hasn't been laughed out of the scientific community.

Acquiring a Nobel Prize for doing that would be a bonus.

just in case people don't click to the reference.

The 160,000-year-old fossils, the oldest ever Homo sapiens and excavated in a remote region of Ethiopia, appear to prove that the continent was the cradle of humanity, the scientists said.
