  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Because crappy neighborhood. Been there, done that. Not recommended.,
Being that Costco is in the business of making money, I doubt they'd let it get too crappy.

I doubt they'd sit idly by for a situation of "we have a location where people are visibly smoking crack two floors up from the entrance"

My only concern about it would be what I mentioned before. It'd be very tempting for someone who lived there to want to work at the Costco location, and thereby put themselves in an exploitative situation.

*But*, that's just a potential risk to consider, it's not a sure thing that it would happen. I'd trust Costco to navigate that dynamic more than I'd trust some of the other big box retailers. (given their track record of paying better and offer better benefits to employees)

That's for sure. Saw drunks stagger down the street past the home in the middle of the day. And I've seen worse places than that.
I would not like that either.

Otoh 800 units of working professional people housing can really change a neighborhood. That brings a different set of problems. But for sure the neighborhood will be on its way up.

Might be prosperous to get one of those fancy "working professional" chains like Costco or something. :)

This si common in some foreign countries. Typically they may have sense condo high rises with a mall adjacent, sometimes on top. Also., land nearby that has lower density single family homes and/or midrise developments.

184 low income (subsidized apartments) might scare some tenants but if I worked nearby sure this complex seems quite good.
