I would like to get peoples opinions on how they feel about supporting the rebuilding of the Jewish temple? It states in 2nd Thess. 2:4... Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. This is talking about the antichrist.
Some of the Jews are feverishly soliciting donations for the rebuilding of the temple. This is the site, and it talks about this down toward the bottom of the page.
http://www.templeinstitute.org/about.html
I personally have mixed feelings about this, because I do not want to support anything that the antichrist is going to sit in and say he is god, that is the abomination of desolation. This is an interesting site, and it tells about everything that they have already to start the sacrifices again after the temple is rebuilt. They just completed the robe of the high priest. They even have the red hiefer for the sarifices. Everything is in place, and they are ready to rebuild the temple. I watched Benny Hinn who was in Israel last week, and he is all for the support of this, and very excited.

I positivly will not support this. As long as the age of Grace and the accepting of Jesus on the cross is being offered to every Jew and Gentile there is no way that the sacrificing of animals for sins of the people is acceptable. I find it very distasteful to me. No, its worse than that, I think its the abomination of desolation talked about in Daniel and Jesus mentioning about the last days. This was Gods only Son.

It is rebuilt according to scripture, but I just can't see the churches role in doing this.

Not to get into the things regarding Benny Hinn, because I haven't a clue. He is working closely with this temple institute, and promoting the donations for it. So is Joe Vankoevering, who is a well known prophecy teacher. I refuse to build a sanctuary for the devil. It is going to be interesting to me, to see where this goes  .

Didn't know Benny Hinn was helping out. Once a unified movement is created with his help they'll probably be able to raise hundreds of millions of dollars from Christians alone, not to mention Jews. Things seem to be going forward quite effectively.

I'd never help rebuild the Temple which serves no purpose to God, but Satan. However, I am ready to either be raptured or live through the Great Tribulation so I can see Christ.

Greetings By His Grace,

Can you show me where in the NT, that the temple will be rebuilt? Also if you read Daniel 9:27 carefully, you will find that the temple, once it was destroyed, would remain destroyed until the "consummation", which is when Christ returns for all His children.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Also it might help you if you study the Greek words "hieron" and "naos".

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Simple. It depends on your views about the 70th week. It hasn't happened yet, and when it does, since the 'sacrifice and oblation' must cease, there must be a temple.

But the preterists and other groups that take everything figuritively feel that that has already happened. So if the Temple is rebuilt, what does that say about that point of view?

That's it exactly robnewbold. There has to be a temple for the antichrist to sit in and proclaim himself god. If this had already happened, then that would be saying that the antichrist was already here before, and it says that Jesus shall destroy him with the brightness of His coming. He hasn't come yet to do that.

I personally am a post tribber, so I know that temple is going to be rebuilt.

This is the way that I feel. Once that temple is started to be rebuilt, then I am going to get real excited. That shows me that prophecy is being fullfilled for the end times, and I will get to see Jesus real soon. About 3-1/2 + years from the time that the temple is done, in my own personal belief.
Yes, with the help of Benny Hinn and others, the $$$$ will flow into that Temple Institute. Once the way is clear to build it, (if it is on the temple mount), like the Jews say it has to be, they will throw that up there as fast as they can. They will think that will usher in the messiah. To bad that the one who is going to be ushered in is the AC first, and many will accept him:cry: .

I am not only pre-trib, I am pre-70th week of Daniel, and I believe that it will be rebuilt too. The thing that i like about pre-, mid-, and post-tribbers is that we all agree that the Bible is to be taken seriously and it isn't one big symbol. Heh.. If I am right, I'll say hi to you on the way up, if you are right, then we have about 7 years (depending how long we survive down here) to find each other in Heaven!;)

From that point to today the Temple mode of worship ended and the worship of God through Jesus His Son became the right of everyone who would hear Him.

No kidding. No one is saying that they should be doing it, but the fact is that the Word of God says that they will. So if you are objecting to being excited about the Last Days being either here or near, maybe you should petition Jesus to take the line "Thy Kingdom Come" from the Lord's Prayer.

LOL, that sounds like a plan to me!!!! I never begrudge anyone on their view of "when". We should all be ready at any given moment.......just incase one of us is wrong, rofl. I made a big switch from pre-trib that I believed for over 35 years, to post trib. If I believed in Astrology, I would attribute it to being a Gemini..split personality,:eek:/  LOL.

Yeah, I consider it a short trip from Pre-trib to Post-trib, but it is a LONG ROAD to the 'already happened' crowd.
ROFL....yeah, what do they have to look forward to, if the temple has already been rebuilt and Jesus has already come...DEATH???? I believe in a literal gospel, (except for Rev. and the parables, etc.) if I believed that way, I would be like Daffy Duck in that cartoon where he says....SHOOT ME NOW!!!!!!

Greetings robnewbold,

I presume you are referring to:

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The pronoun "he" above must have a matching noun preceeding it. It is called an antecedent. The first noun to which this pronoun might refer in the prior verse is "the people", but that would be incorrect because it has to match the case. ("of the prince" cannot be used because it only identifies "the people") So it is the prior noun "Messiah" to which it reflects. The Messiah DID come, He was "cut off" 3 1/2 years into His ministry by the cross, the Temple veil was torn asunder and God no longer accepted any sacrifice or oblation from it. Then in 70 A.D. it was completely destroyed and since, there has been NO sacrifice and oblation.

Are you trying to say that sacrifice and oblation continue to this day?

Blessings,

Dad Ernie
