Not really, but I'm intrigued to know what inspired you to ask?

Because of my brother.

He is a very attractive, popular, good guy. He has no trouble getting girls who are interested until he reveals to them that he has a prosthetic or they hear it from someone else. Looking at him you would never guess it in a million years. But as soon as some girls hear about the leg thing they lose interest. He has even had some tell him that his leg 'grosses them out.":sigh:

And just so you know this is not something that he hides from people. He is very open about it. It just that he doesn't go up to people and say "Hey, my name is _____, I have a fake leg"

I was just curious how prevalent this was in society. I understand that there is a certain stigma attached to those who are physically disabled, whether it is intended or not. And I was just curious how others would respond to a person like that.

It is easy to say one way or the other, but I am really not sure. I have never been in that situation. I would like to think i wouldn't have a problem with it, but I really have no clue. I definately understand that the prosthetic doesn't make the person, and I would hope I could look past that and see then person for who she is.

Depends on how attractive I think she is otherwise. And by attractive I am including how much her personality attracts me.

There is a funny but probably inappropriate scene in I'm Gonna Get You Sucka. The main character meets a woman and she ends up having almost no human parts left. It is all fake or articial limbs or a wig, etc.

Man, I'm the only one who said no.... It's just that I am uncomfortable around people with disabilities (though it's not really a disability when it comes down to it, I guess.) I wish I could answer yes, but dating someone like that would be really difficult for me. But, to get it straight if I already knew the person and a situation arose where he had to get an artifical limb I wouldn't go AWOL.

I wouldn't have a problem dating the guy. I mean, if that's the only bad thing people have to say about him.....then I say, "Introduce me!" haha. :p As it was said earlier, a prosthetic arm may take some real getting used to. But as for a prosthetic leg.....it wouldn't be a big deal to me really. And it certainly wouldn't "gross me out". That's just stupid.

It's possible. If I did, I would even try to make improvements to her artificial limb. A better question might be: how does she feel about becoming a partially bionic woman? :D

Well, I would try. It's the thought that counts, right?

Wow that's really mean, I'm sorry your brother had to go through that. People like that don't deserve him anyway.
