My cousin works in a prison, and one of his inmates was this giant guy they called "pretty boy." He didn't think anything about it, since most prisoners go by some sort of nickname, until one day he had to fill out a report on the guy, and learned his actual name was "Pretty Boy [lastname]."

man....I had to watch "Sybil".

Here in the south US there are really only two male names...

Junior or Bubba....unless you're named after a NASCAR driver...
who is named Junior or Bubba...

I'm surprized no boys have been named #3 yet.

I knew this guy once whose first name was Kim.

That's not uncommon. Look at Rudyard Kipling's book Kim, for instance. The main character is male. I think it's only been in more recent times that Kim has been considered a girls's name (I guess from Kimberley). The male Kim, I believe, is a short form of Kimball (and it's still reasonably popular).

Mistopheles sounds like Mistah Phleas if you slur it all together, which is Boston-esque.

Yes, but I am not willing to say that name (it being the name of a devil) so I just call the cat "devil cat."

I always liked the daughter of the guy who invented the Lear Jet... Shanda Lear. :D

My preference is for names that sound good for a person of any age. I can't imagine a "Britnee" in a nursing home.
Hey, I worked at a place years ago and there was a lady named Rhoda Tiller. :help: How about that?

It was her married name, though.

That reminds me. I was reading a baby name book once, and there was a story in there.

A couple had named their son with only initials. I don't remember his last name, so I'll just use Johnson, since it's common.

Anyways, R. B. Johnson wanted to go into the military. When asked to fill out his information, he put down on the paper his name the way that his parents had taught him how to:

R (only) B (only) Johnson. The Army apparently mistook the way he wrote it, and misspelled his name. He tried and tried to get it fixed, but it's permanent.

I think it said he was the only Ronly Bonly Johnson ever to enlist.
