JOHANNESBURG — A minimum of 5.6 million people have been driven from their homes, a further 25 million need aid and some 9,000 have been killed in Sudan since the latest conflict began earlier this year, according to the U.N. The situation gets worse daily, with increasing credible reports of ethnically based attacks and rape of women and children.

Yet Sudan is literally the forgotten war.

"An Arab paramilitary group is carrying out a genocide in Sudan with mass killings of minorities and corpses spread across streets," Richard Goldberg, of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Fox News Digital.

There's little media interest in the ongoing Sudan conflict, with relief agencies struggling to keep donors interested and the lack of demonstrations against the killing in stark contrast to protests over Gaza.

So, I really don't understand what's going on in Sudan, since the news doesn't really talk about it. I am assuming that Islamic Jihadists of Arab descent are terrorizing the black Africans now, is that true?

I think the overseas press correspondents like nice hotels. Therefore almost all 'news' happens in the relative proximity of nice hotels. It takes a special and rare person to go out into the bush and put themselves at risk.

One would have to read the actual Fatwas issued on that to know their thinking. Such an attack would have been justified by a Fatwa. But for journalists to know what that actually was would require the ability to read Arabic. Most correspondents staying in the best hotels stay there so they don't have to know Arabic but can get by with English or whatever.

Tribalism. Basically racism. Those with darker skin are seen as only good for domestic servants or sex slaves. They did the same thing with the people in South Sudan, who were a mix of Muslim or Animist or Christian. Catch 'em and rape 'em and sell them in Khartoum.

That's my opinion. Most of them anyway. The foreign aid establishment is often the same way. They stay in the capitol cities where there is electricity and running water and supermarkets. Sorry. I'm probably making powerful enemies right now.

Translating Arabic is no longer terribly hard. Being an expert at it still would take long training. I only know a few words of it. Just enough to be confused.

I don't think that is ALL of Islam by any means. But there WERE actual slave markets run by ISIS.
