Do you all remember that news story about witches trying to stop President Trump with a spell? Here's the news story from earlier in 2017 for those who missed it:

BBC: Witches cast 'mass spell' against Donald Trump - 2/25/17

Well, Trump's successes show that the witches failed to stop him. Even CNN admitted recently that Trump has succeeded in keeping a lot of his promises:
CNN: Donald Trump -- keeper of promises, 12/7/17

I have believed Trump was God's choice to lead the U.S. after I learned of a little known prophecy, given in 2011, stating that Trump would win the presidential election of 2016 and more. So I am not surprised that the witches of the world could not derail Trump. I do remember the witches making their announcement during the presidential campaign.

You two really put that much credence into the rituals of witches?

I don't consider that they have power over me as a believer. In this fallen world and among unbelievers, I have no doubt they have the power of evil on their side. You need only look to see how things are among some peoples of the non-Christian world.

I don't believe in witchcraft. I'm surprised you do.

There are some high school girls in south east Asia who consider themselves "witches" and appear to adopt European "witch" symbols such as brooms.

I interpret this to mean that it is a global cult insensitive to national borders and boundaries.

Use of Tarot cards and Astrology seems to imply that they psychologically self identify more with non-human, non-terrestrial, other-worldly Power out amongst the stars of heaven, than with their fellow humans down on Earth.

This writer perceives the same as more "going out of house" than reassuring.

However much witches can "claim" on the President, so much more can they claim on "everyman", "John Q Public". Whatever other-worldly Power can push through "the secret service and presidential bunker" so to speak, so much more could it dump on some random person off the street.

Yes? Do I misinterpret?

I don't perceive that people are using their eyes to see and ears to hear, so to speak. I don't think people realize what is being claimed and what is really "in the cards".

It's just a harmless binding spell... So innocuous... If that is really true, then that is still only true for today... After precedents are set, what about tomorrow or next week? Supernatural "sword of Damocles" always hanging over everyone's heads?

Seems their spells were just as effective as my prayers, and those of most of the other Christians I know well in real life...sigh, more evidence of a material universe

If I remember that prophesy, it said that he would win in 2012. Of course, after he decided to run in 2016 the "so called" prophet change what had been said then and said it was for newer time frame.

I can't believe I have to say this on a Christian and especially a Catholic forum....

witchcraft doesn't work.

Stop gloating about a politicians supposed victory against it.
Witchcraft is very real and it does work. It doesn't work where the Holy Spirit dwells, but it works, in various ways, in the pagan world.

One of my favorite prayers is the Breastplate of Saint Patrick.

I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation.

I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth with His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion with His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection with His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.

I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
In the obedience of angels,
In the service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs,
In the predictions of prophets,
In the preaching of apostles,
In the faith of confessors,
In the innocence of holy virgins,
In the deeds of righteous men.

I arise today, through
The strength of heaven,
The light of the sun,
The radiance of the moon,
The splendor of fire,
The speed of lightning,
The swiftness of wind,
The depth of the sea,
The stability of the earth,
The firmness of rock.

I arise today, through
God's strength to pilot me,
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's host to save me
From snares of devils,
From temptation of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
afar and near.

I summon today
All these powers between me and those evils,
Against every cruel and merciless power
that may oppose my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom,
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul;
Christ to shield me today
Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
So that there may come to me an abundance of reward.

Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

We are not told to stay away from these things by the Church for nothing. And yes, it should be stated in a Catholic forum. Getting pretty tired of hearing the slams against OBOB and the people in it. I believe that is against the rules. Not very Catholic either.

Just ignore it Glaucus. Someone is just spoiling for a fight. I think LWU is going to have to start a fan club. :D
I'll take comfort knowing that I'm not the one who believes Saint Patrick prayed for nonsense.

No. You aren't the only one. Despite what others say. The Church and Scripture stands with you.
One has to wonder how much some people really believe in the resurrection of the dead and our unseen God in Heaven, when they have no belief in demons and the power they can weild through witches and other vessels, despite the very same Holy Scriptures and Church that testifies to the resurrection and God saying that both are very real.

I'm certain that St. Patrick wasn't subject to superstition, nor do I believe that the Church compels us to do so either.

Witchcraft isn't real.
I'm sure of it too, since it's not superstition. I'm sure he was and is of sound mind and meant every bit of praying for protection from witches.
