Hi Family,

How do you identify those who are practicing witchcraft IN the church?

What do you do once you have identified said witchcraft?

How do you address the person?

What responsibility does the pastor have to the congregation to address the issue?

How do you believe witchcraft can impact the church?

That's an easy one for me because I don't believe in witchcraft. Someone "practicing witchcraft" is merely a person who believes they are doing something, but are only engaged in a distraction harming only themselves. There may or may not be some indications, i.e., manner of dress, wearing pendants, etc.

But the bible says there is witchcraft and it is an abomination. How can one believe in the Word but not in the entirety of the Word?

Hi Natsumi, there is this Biblical norm when sin is involved:

Matthew 18
15 If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
16 But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Is someone practicing witchcraft in your church? If so, what are they doing, exactly?

Thanks!

Worshipping idols is a mortal sin in the old testament, but as Paul said:

copyChkboxOff.gif
1Co 8:4 - ...we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

An idol is nothing. Those gods don't exist. They are a distraction.

The term "witchcraft" is the Greek word "Pharmakia"which is where we get the English word Pharmaceuticals. It refers to making or using a potion, not the act of speaking spells. It makes a bit of sense. We have a symptom, which is the body's signal that something is wrong, and we take drugs which simply mask the symptom, thus leaving the cause to persist.

The Hebrew word for the English word sorcery or witchcraft was translated as FARMAKEIA in the LXX and Revelation in the NT.

It had more the meaning of "poisoner".

Hey Natsumi,
This is an awesome question. All I can say is that I have encountered people in the church who practice witchcraft, it is a very real thing in the church, sadly. Now before you go saying, "What? Who? How is it common?" If you will hear me I will answer.

Without going into detail into how I've encountered it and how I know, if you will hear me and believe I am being serious, I have sat next to people in church, greeted people in church, and if you will believe, even encountered pastors of some churches that are involved in witchcraft.

Witchcraft tries to hide among the general population, secret groups and societies try to be "secret" while at the same time blatantly advertising their involvement in witchcraft right in front of your face.
With one hand the world displays witchcraft through famous musicians and even actors while with the other hand points the finger and laughs at those that see these things and try to warn others. And these things include examples such as hand gestures, symbols, music lyrics, art work, it's everywhere.

But to not cause any paranoia remember what Elisha said to his servant in 2 Kings 6:16, "...Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." JESUS, His Holy Spirit, and The Heavenly Father are with us and watching over us always, and so are Jesus's angels.

I've seen in the eyes of those that participate in witchcraft, and felt from those involved a great darkness, almost tangible and felt as well as seen. If you'd like to know more please feel free to message me, otherwise I hope this was helpful. God Bless and may God protect you as He has always protected me.

I also do not believe in witchcraft, Hence, if we are right, HTacianas, then the tens of thousands that were put to death in the Middle Ages for being witches, were just normal human beings that were innocent victims of the State and/or Church.

They were innocent victims, but not of the State or Church. They were the victims of the witnesses who falsely accused them.

What about God and Ex 22:18?

What about Deut 18?

Why do you believe it isnt real?

How can God say its real but not be real?

In Deut 18 it also breaks it down more.

Witchcraft is a distraction. Just like worshipping of a non-existent god.
Do you believe that the Enemy is real?

Do you believe that which God has forbidden and is an abomination is in communion with the Enemy?

I do believe the enemy exists. In many forms. Both internal and external. But I am not superstitious. And I place no credence in the silly hobbies of those who call themselves witches.

Do you believe th Enemy is in bed with what God calls an abomination?

It happens to steal, kill and distroy through corruption, division and distruction to ministries and those in Christ Jesus.

Do you believe in the Word of God and Jesus Christ came in the flesh, died and rose again?
