  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Will anyone go see The Da Vinci Code?

We did a study on this at church. We needed to know the falsehoods that the world is going to be shown through this movie. It was to equip us for the questions that will be raised from family and friends who go and see it.

I personally will not see the movie.

I'm not interested in seeing the movie. I didn't read the book-- I read Holy Blood, Holy Grail about five years ago, and didn't feel that I needed to read the same debunked research again, only now couched in mediocre fiction. Besides, I'm not really a fan of Tom Hanks...

Absolutely not! This movie is garbage and a total lie.

Not really interested in seeing it. Not because it is borderline Heresy, just because I am contrary and don't go to see movies based on hype. I have not even seen Titanic yet. I prefer Raise the Titanic based on the Clive Cussler book. Also I saw basically the same premise as the davinci code in a sci fi channel movie. Why watch the same premise again.

This movie may do some good in that it will get people talking about Jesus. Some of it will undoubtdly be wrong, but talking about Jesus is pretty much a good thing.

i shouldnt think i'll go to see it.

i read the book mainly because i spent 2 hours dicussing who Jesus was and what the holy grail was on the phone with a friend who was totally into the Rose Line thingy. i was only vaguely aware of all this (had heard summat about it a while ago) so thought reading the book would be the quickest way to find out what he actually was going on about.

good read for an action story, the religious bits just put my back up. i would imagine i'd have to sit through the film with my teeth gritted, not my idea of fun!
