Im pretty sure that I will not either...it kinda ranks up there with that one that tried defaming Jesus years ago  The Last Temptation of Christ:sick: .....WHICH I never went and saw either.

I don't believe its worth seeing for me.

Sincerely,
Templedweller:)

Well, I'm not sure I'd equate the two. I saw 10 minutes of LToC on video in a college dayroom. I had to leave the scene. It was an overt attempt to make Jesus look bad.

DaVinci, from what I've read, is a modern day intrigue piece loosely based on Gnostic texts and Grail mythology. The main objectionable material is the thought that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and had a daughter. Now, I don't see anything insulting about that. It may be WRONG, but to say he was married and had a daughter is not insulting, IMO.

I must be in the minority here. I am going to see it. In fact, my husband (who is Catholic) can't wait to see it. He asked me yesterday to find his copy of the book so that he can re-read it before seeing the movie. My only regret is that Tom Hanks is doing the lead. When I read the book, I imagined Harrison Ford in the role. I wish he was doing it instead. But at least Tom Hanks is a better actor than some. Maybe it won't be too bad.

I'm just waiting for Dan Brown's other (and better) books like "Angels and Demons" and "Digital Fortress" to be made into films. "Angels and Demons" is my favorite of his books (I've read all four) and I think it would make a great movie!

Good to hear. I picked up a copy of "Angels and Demons" at our last church rummage sale. I've got a few books to read before I get to it, but I should have it read before they come out with a movie :D

I agree with the Harrison Ford comment. Seems like he'd be perfect for this role.

I will be going to see it, theres no doubt about that. I have begun to read the book but Ive only got 1/3 to go and something is telling me not to read it. I cant say what it is but theres something. At the end of the day it is a book and Dan Brown does not say it is fact so take out of it what you wish.

Out of all the negativity about the book and the movie, I wanted to share some very positive things about it which have happened in my life. YOU WILL WANT TO READ THIS! I bought the book for my non practising Catholic husband who turned his back on his faith 20 years ago. I am obviously so naive and didnt know exactly what the book was about. As he was reading it he started to show interests in the groups which are mentioned in the book and doing a lot of research on the internet. I was beginning to get worried and thought what have I done?? Suddenly the end of January he allowed the Lord back into his life and has been at church every Sunday since. He has joined a bible study group and is really full of the Holy Spirit. Lets try not to be too negative about the movie and pray that there will be some that will be pulled to the church rather than turned away. I for one am asking God to come with me to see that movie so I know I will have no temptation to stray.
