I've heard it both ways. It's hard to get an accurate view of this movie. Too many times I've heard someone pan this movie, not on its merits, but because some fundamentalists and Catholics find the movie a threat to their religion. Then, some of the people who like it say it's good because Catholics and fundamentals are offended.

That being said--I probably won't go see the movie, but in a couple of years they'll show it on TV anyway, so I'll probably watch it then.
