Three Michigan officials who were targeted by supporters of Donald Trump after the 2020 election said they were interviewed, in recent months, by investigators working for the special counsel probing the former president's efforts to overturn his defeat.
A fourth person, Chris Thomas, a former state elections director who served as senior adviser to Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey in 2020, said he was interviewed in March......

The interview focused on the 2020 presidential election and the "aftermath," McBroom said. But he declined to go into further specifics.

McBroom led an investigation by the Senate Oversight Committee into the election, finding in June 2021 that there was "no evidence of widespread or systematic fraud" in Michigan's election, despite claims from Trump and his allies. McBroom's panel spent about eight months studying the election, including 28 hours of public testimony and a review of thousands of documents.
McBroom's report debunked false theories that had spread about the 2020 election, but he was criticized by some Republicans, including Trump himself. The former president labeled the report a "coverup" and alleged it was "a method of getting out of a forensic audit."
I knew Jack Smith was looking into Georgia, but was unaware he was also looking at Michigan currently.
