  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The majority have been wrong many time before. That's the whole point of the story of Emperor's New Cloths. Most people would rather be in the majority and be wrong than be right in the minority.

Yeah. Why should we listen to 1300 people with degrees in the biological sciences when we could listen to Some Dude On The Internet.

Why are you here if not to commutate with others on the internet? If all you are interested in is what those 1300 people think then I wouldn't waste my time here.
Just because Francis Collins was a part of Human Genome Project doesn't make him a high priest that I have to accept his conclusion the evidence of evolution is overwhelming. I can accept his science (the fact/ data) without agree with his faith in evolution.

I don't accept something without question just because 1300 pastors says it no matter how educated they are.

I'm not the one who beleived they exist for 30 millions years and I have used "living fossils" to show evolution didn't happened.

Then who said the 30 million years. Am on a tablet so could be missing it but I don't see anyone but you making a claim about 30 million years. Or is it just you don't "believe" it because it's part of the "evolution myth"? In that case you need to brush up on it as you got it wrong.

Also "living fossils" are pretty bad to use since they're ever only superficially not showing major changes yet they do still show evolutionary changes.

Many creationists claim that the evidence observed in the field of biology is consistent with a common designer.

My question is simple. Out of all of the multitude of ways that a designer could have designed life, why would this designer make it look like evolution?

I think you'd have this backwards. If there is a common designer, it would be man that mistook what he saw and attributed to evolution, rather than the Creator making it look like evolution. First cause would be the creator, the mistaken attribution would be to evolution. It would be like someone drawing up the blueprints for a 747 and someone else coming along and mistakenly thinking it was for a submarine.

The Tyre (Sidon, Lebanon) tourism offce no doubt would find that to be news indeed.
Typical. I provide a link showing what everyone either knows or should know. My opponents simply continue to assert that they are right without any backup of any kind.

Yhvh is Perfect.
Yhvh created everything, and called it very good.

Then how come Yhvh took a Mulligan on creation?

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

He didn't. He's always creator.

No no, you see God said it would never rebuilt.. That City called Tyre built in the same place ontop of only SOME of the ruins of the ancient city of Tyre is not actually Tyre!

It's amusing and sad that people go to such lengths of foolishness to try and justify a prophecy that was simply blatantly wrong.

This is why your more moderate christian apologists never use prophecy as one of their arguments, because they know how easily they can be discounted.

Sounds like "But the Tyre they rebuilt wasn't really Tyre!" to me. You'd think God wouldn't be cutting such a fine line.

The fossils were there and not the scientist. Horseshoe crab is an excellent example.
Either
1) man dating is extremely flawed and unreliable
2) evolution didn't happen
3) horseshoe crab is an evolutionary god that doesn't change.
We find three things in fossil record , 1) stasis, 2)stasis and 3) more stasis.

Now the "evolutionary" changes they find in the fossil record are the same type we see in finches and dogs.

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

I expect to see links countered with links not with continued insistence that black is white and up is down.

First of all, the Bible text in question says:

"I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be heard no more....I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more..."

Now where I come from "built no more" is not the same as rebuilt.

In conclusion, if you want to show that the Bible is inaccurate, pick a real example–something like "So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, "It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared." and follow that up with the Bible verse "No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

You see, that's a REAL problem, not the BS you're slinging.

For your purposes they are a terrible example.

Hey, that's a great idea. If my husband builds a shed in the back yard, and the city issues a cease and desist order that says tear it down and never rebuild it, we can take it down to bare concrete, then build it once more, because "built once more" is not the same as "rebuilt" in the original Hebrew.

So where you come from black means white? Or what does "built no more" mean to you? Besides your link claimed Nebuchadnezzar took Tyre. Wiki's page on Tyre says they paid old Neb off to lift the siege.

Here's a great idea. If you really want to understand the Bible (not that you do) maybe you should study Hebrew and Greek. Then you could read it in the original.

Then you don't run into problems of hearing a phrase such as "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" and think that Juliet is asking where he is. Once you understand that "wherefore" means "why" the scene suddenly makes sense and you stop criticizing it because "where" doesn't jive with your idea of how the universe is.

Since you feel like playing a truly sad pedantic game based on one translation with a particularly flowery wording perhaps this page

https://www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Ezekiel 26:14

With its dozens and dozens of various translations, rebuilt, build no more, built again etc... Will illuminate you as to what was said.

Still no links and even less understanding.

The prophecy (not that you even bothered to read it) specifically says: "Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up."

So you see, if Nebuchadanezzar had simply destroyed Tyre and been done with it, that wouldn't have jived with the prediction at all. No, after a 13-year siege, the mainland city of Tyre surrendered and when Nebuchadanezzar broke down the gate he found the city nearly deserted as everyone had gone to the island city.

Later Alexander the Great decided that he would make peace with the island city and sent an ambassador there to negotiate terms. Tyre's leaders executed the ambassadors and threw their bodies off the walls. Alexander was, shall we say, displeased. He disassembled the ruins of the mainland city and used it to make a walkway of sorts to take him out to the island city of Tyre. You can read all about it in Alexander's Siege of Tyre, 332 BC (Article) -- Ancient History Encyclopedia
