  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why Would "Common Design" Mimic Evolution?

I would say that death preceded the apple, since the other fruit, the tree of life, was already there too, and God didn't forbid them from eating it until after the fall. If there was no death, then it wouldn't be there, unless God likes to create redundant things like the human vermiform appendix...oh, wait.

Death was already present.

The death is a spiritual one, complete fellowship with God. Adam experience death, as God said, the day He ate of the tree.

What an amazing tool to preserve biblical inerranacy, that word "spiritual".

Adam ate the fruit, didn't die as God warned, but he died spiritually.

Ezekiel prophesied Tyre would never be rebuilt, it was rebuilt, but it was never rebuilt spiritually.

There is the spiritual and then there's the natural.

Yes, he died.

Ezekiel prophesied Tyre would never be rebuilt, it was rebuilt, but it was never rebuilt spiritually.

Quote it.

Ezekiel 26:

[15] Thus saith the Lord GOD to Tyrus; Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee?
[16] Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at thee.
[17] And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited of seafaring men, the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, which cause their terror to be on all that haunt it!
[18] Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy departure.
[19] For thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee;
[20] When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;
[21] I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord GOD.

You're going to have to point out in the passage where it says what you claim it says. Remember, you made this claim....."Ezekiel prophesied Tyre would never be rebuilt, it was rebuilt, but it was never rebuilt spiritually."

The text says it would never be rebuilt. The text is obviously wrong. What is your counterclaim?

Ah, you deny it was destroyed. Well, in that case your text is wrong when it predicted it would be destroyed.
Again, I say that if you really wanted to know the answers to your questions, said answers are abundantly available on the net. For example I had no difficulty finding Destruction Of Tyre by Alexander the Great and Nebuchadnezzar, which claims that Tyre was destroyed and never rebuilt.

It says:
The modern city of Tyre is of modest size and is near the ancient site, though not identical to it. Archaeological photographs of the ancient site show ruins from ancient Tyre scattered over many acres of land. No city has been rebuilt over these ruins...as for the island city, it apparently sank below the surface of the Mediterranean…All that remains of it is a series of black reefs offshore from Tyre, which surely could not have been there in the first and second millennia b.c., since they pose such a threat to navigation. The promontory that now juts out from the coastline probably was washed up along the barrier of Alexander’s causeway, but the island itself broke off and sank away when the subsidence took place...
Personally I question whether an evolution forum is the appropriate venue for your ax grinding.

Why make common design look exactly like evolution when it would have been easier to make it not look like evolution?
Not everyone can see the emperor's new cloths but sees the emperor naked. In another words not everyone agrees with you that life looked as if it evolved. Tyrannosaur Rex didn't evolved one bit in 30 millions years according the evolution myth.
I find no evidence that designs in nature are illusions, thus evolved.

Maybe not everyone, but over 1,300 biologists named Steve disagree with you.

The majority have been wrong many time before. That's the whole point of the story of Emperor's New Cloths. Most people would rather be in the majority and be wrong than be right in the minority.

The Tyre (Sidon, Lebanon) tourism offce no doubt would find that to be news indeed.

No no, you see God said it would never rebuilt.. That City called Tyre built in the same place ontop of only SOME of the ruins of the ancient city of Tyre is not actually Tyre!

It's amusing and sad that people go to such lengths of foolishness to try and justify a prophecy that was simply blatantly wrong.

So far as I can tell T.Rex fossils are only found within a date of 67 to 65 million years ago. Or.. A 3 million year window, with 50 individuals found making it rather difficult to say too much about their evolution especially since we don't have much in the way of soft tissue. It's incorrect to say that they existed for 30 million years and it's incorrect to say they did not evolve since they're an evolution of previous forms themselves and we can't be certain about their own evolution.

There are however so called living fossils that have remained relatively unchanged for extremely long periods of time. Try looking up one of those for your next terrible argument against evolution.

I'm not the one who beleived they exist for 30 millions years and I have used "living fossils" to show evolution didn't happened.
