Or they could be wondering what kind of psychopath needs to wear bullet proof armor to assault midgets…

If the midget started the physical confrontation, then technically the midget is the one who committed assault.

Are you saying that no Palestinian civilian homes have been destroyed by Israel?

If rockets are being fired off the roof of said home, it becomes a military target...

Because there is so much empty land in Gaza for Hamas to use. Oh wait...

Note, I think both sides are in the wrong, but Israel overreacted I think. It's like if in response to one person being shot in the US, the police go in and occupy neighborhoods.

You do realize that there's such a thing as an acceptable and unacceptable levels of self defense? Just because a midget throws a rock at you- that doesn't even hit you, doesn't mean your justified to then break its legs, pluck out an eye and kill his family.

I think people are forgetting that while hundreds of rockets where launched towards Israel, 'none' of them are able to get past the Iron Dome. This is just a superior power abusing a small and defenseless people; who, unlike the Jews don't have the convenience of being able to sit behind the Iron Dome and cheer as rockets blow up their enemies.

Hamas is committing War Crimes by firing rockets from Hospitals, schools, residential areas, etc. They are turning those locations into military targets, on purpose.

And today, we learned rockets were found in up to three UN sponsored schools.

HOWEVER, Israel still has a moral obligation consider risk to civilians when choosing a target to shell. When a school that is being used as a shelter is shelled, that is an immoral choice. The fact is there are other methods to neutralize such targets with out shelling them.

We learned that a few days ago.

Like how, exactly? Invading Gaza?

To be more specific, these were schools that weren't being used, though many have tried to use the 'news' as some sort of justification for Israel's bmbing of 7 different UN schools/shelters.

Except for, y'know, the fact that they were bombed by Israel.

It's called war... If it were any other military conducting this fight, the casualties would be easily be 10x as high.

Why the United States people and International community needs to support Israel

According to a 2013 survey by Pew Research, only 40% of Jewish Americans think God gave Israel to the Jews and a mere 38% think that Idrael has been negotiating "in good will" with the Palestinians.

During the 1930's and 40's Jewish terrorist groups sprang up in Palestine when the British failed to commit to what they felt were meaningful negotiations.

Two of the leaders of these Jewish groups went on to become Israeli prime ministers.

It should come as no surprise, especially to Israeli, that the lack of meaningful negotiations over the last 65 years has discredited the Palestinian moderates and given rise to such extremist groups as Hamas.

The only way out of this impasse is for Israel to actively seek out Palestinian moderates and provide them with successes that they bring back to their own people - to demonstrate that there is an alternative to Hamas.

Sorry, but the "It's called war" excuse doesn't work, no matter how desperate you are to try to defend Israel's continued, repeated, and purposeful atrocities.

Unquestioning support of Israel is not being spearheaded by the "Jewish lobby," but by conservative American Christians whose objectivity is clouded because they view the the state of Israel as the fulfilment of prophecy.

Do you think that 'pure' secularist as per Harvard professors, Obama appointees, etc. is more objective?

The sooner that Hamas is destroyed, the sooner that Palestinians in general give up the idea of erasing Israel off the map, the sooner that Palestinians will actually be able to take advantage of living in such close proximity to the highly productive and technologically cutting edge people in their midst.
Until then, why should we care? Let them stew in their hate for Israel, for as long as it suits them.

It might help if Israel stops trying to steal their land and wipe them out.

Wow it's amazing how entire neighbourhoods, hospitals, ambulances, schools, and refugee camps were all sites of rockets being fired.

Yessiree, every one of these buildings had bands of militants milling about in the open on top of them. How's about you look up International law on distinction and proportionality; you may find it enlightening.

But, but, but… it was self defence! They shot rockets from there! And umm… yes, and Human shields, don’t forget that! And they want to kill Israelis too!

[snip]you're only encouraging more children to be killed.

Hamas needs to renounce violence.

Satan has always hated the ancestral line through whom the Lord Jesus came into the world.

Jews today are mainly veiled from understanding the Gospel, while Gentiles are within the scope of the day of grace.

[snip]There is no more clear example of good verses evil than the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

What concessions can you make with the devil?

This is by far the scariest thread I've read in a long time.

It's also rather disheartening having to watch people explain why indiscriminate bombing of school houses is wrong.

The US doesn't have to take positions on every conflict. Both sides are doing unacceptable things. In my view the need to Do Something made things worse in Iran and Iraq. We should be a voice for peace, and be helpful when we can be. I would avoid attacking Israel without doing something about Hamas also, but I think it would be best just not to take any public position.

We've already taken a position by supplying their military.
