  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sorry, when I read God's written Word I allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. This means watching closely the cultural and historical instances of each event recounted and the like.

BTW, the Messianics on Christianforums couldn't provide any scholarly source to back up their many ludicrous claims. Most of them turned to "intellectual giants" like Hislop, LOL.

On Christianforums I was unable to show how ridiculous the Messianic propositions were, lest I be thought of as, gasp, "debating".

But here my hands are not tied, praise Theos!

paganism is evil and we have to abstain from it.

we have to be a example to those that are weak in the faith. This would apply to a lot of those that profess Jesus.

1Thes 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Rom14v1: Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2: For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3: Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
4: Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5: One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6: He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7: For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8: For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9: For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10: But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11: For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12: So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13: Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
14: I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
15: But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
16: Let not then your good be evil spoken of:

we are to be an example to the world.

Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Isa 43:12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

easter and evertyhing that pertains to it is a strange God before OUR God.

we are to witness to the nation that this is so.

Jesus is a example on how we should walk.

Jesus did not do easter or any other pagan ceremony

1Pt 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

This is a reminder that if you are not messianic only posts of a fellowship nature can be made.....

Why the coming in to our forum and challenging of every aspect of our faith?

Your faith? Aren't we all in Christ? Are we supposed to have different faiths? Or are we supposed to be united in Christ?

I think he is asking an honest question. I saw the post
he mentions on another forum, and it was incredibly rude
and offensive.

I don't think he is challenging your faith, but responding
for an honest answer to the attack on his faith.

By the way, the question was posed by a Messianic Gentile, not
that it matters but because you were not sure...

What is a Messianic Gentile?

Well, after reading this post of his at CARM,
perhaps I was wrong about giving him the
benefit of the doubt.
Not exactly friendly...

May cover the following

Gentile practicing Judaism in Messiah
Gentile practicing Torah observance.
Gentile that found the Hebrew roots and practices some things biblical or Jewish.
May be a person that follows only the Noachide laws.

How does the bible define a Gentile?

One who is a pagan. An idolater.

By that then, I don't know of any Messianic that is a pagan or idolater, and thus "Gentile."

And what is not so friendly about the post? Is it more friendly to sit back and watch those who know the truth give up talking about the truth to our family and friends? Be encouraged. Easter draws near, don't give up educating our friends and families about it. The truth will set them free. That's what I think he's saying. Since when is a message of liberation, a message of unfriendliness? Shall we be friends with the status quo? Shall we quietly hoard the truth for ourselves? Shall we receive the blessings of liberty, yet do nothing for the those brothers and sisters of ours still in bondage to pagan traditions of men? Are we not called, as disciples, to make disciples and thus teach them to obey all things Yeshua through the Torah commands? Or are we to keep silent, sit back, and just "accept everyone else's religion" like "traditional Jews" as someone said here?

(rhetorical ramble)
Is it laissez-faire, live and let live; or in the matters of life and death, is there only one way?
(/rhetorical ramble)

Why so quick to judge someone who encourages others like him to teach others the truth about Easter? What is so "unfriendly" about his message that doesn't even appear to be directed to anyone but Messianics who abstain from Easter celebrations already? Why the attack on the truth, and those that bear it?

Unless I'm misunderstanding what is being argued in this thread, I don't think the issue of contention is with celebrating The Passover and taking of the wine and bread as Yeshua Himself commanded in remberance of Himself.

I think the contention that Messianics have is with celebrating the pagan elements that have been added such as eggs and the fertility traditions. I am a Gentile believer and I agree with them on that.

Ameyn brother, many people have forgotten what the true definition of Gentile means!

Why would any Gentile or believer in Christ practice Judaism?
Not Judaism, but many elements which are truth and essential as a believer of Christ... such as Torah, God's feast's, and etc.

Here is a awesome article to read at http://www.therefinersfire.org/lets_get_biblical.htm

Well the apostles DID know blood bought and Spirit anointed Gentiles .....

Acts 21
25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

While it is quite true that for quite a long period of history those who were non-Jews (and thus Goyim/Gentiles) were NOT connected to the True G-d and thus pagan, the term Goy in and of itself mearly meant nation or peoples, albeit usually non-Jewish

Goy
nation, people
  1. nation, people
    1. usually of non-Hebrew people
    2. of descendants of Abraham
    3. of Israel
  2. of a swarm as of locusts, other animals
  3. Goyim = "nations"
The term is even used to speak of the Jewish Nation (or Goy)
Ex 19:6
Isa 1:4
Isa 49:7
Jer 31:36
Eze 37:22

Join you? I thought we were already joined together by faith in Yeshua....

So how would I "join" you? What does that entail?
Check out our FAQ and see what the difference is.... as you read some of the threads you will find a lot of information of the Judean apostalic understanding of the truth.... it makes a big difference. Ask.. and we will answer any questions you may have... feel free to drop traditions of men and walk in the narrow path of our Lord and Savior who laid it all out for us to walk. Hey.. we are just learning too but you will read and see the difference.

Most importantly... above all else.... Prayerfully walk with God on this matter... for without Him there is no light on any subject.
