Darwin, however, is dead.
This has to be the first sentence I read from you that is totally true.

Yep, Darwin was such an anti-christ and the Church of England saw evolution as such evil that they buried Darwin in Westminster Abbey;
And Darwin was such insignificant to science that he is buried amongst the greatest people in the history og (English) science.

Makes you think, no?

I think that this is uncalled for. AV has insulted no one. Yes he has some very weird and many times crazy ideas but one thing he does not is insult fellow posters.

 -- I apologize for my vending machine remark; that was uncalled for.

Are you implying that the Antichrist is in league with God?:confused:
His master once said that he (his master) would be 'like the Most High'.

I can't prove it, but this is the story as I see it.

God creates the earth, but He turns it over to Adam, not Lucifer, for dominion.

This incenses Lucifer, who then rebels and publicly announces that he will usurp God from the throne and run the universe himself.

God, of course, won't allow this, and He continues to maintain the universe in a glorified state by supplying it with a type of energy called -- for lack of a better term -- Shekinah energy.

Later, when Adam turns the universe over to Lucifer, then God curses the universe by withdrawing this divine energy -- sort of like saying, "Okay, Lucifer, you wanted the universe, you got it. Let's see you maintain it now."

But Lucifer -- now Satan -- is not omnipotent and cannot generate this energy, and the universe under him is running down; or what we call the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.

God is going to step in very soon to put an end to all this and restore the universe to its pristine, glorified condition before the Fall.

Again -- all this is speculation on my part.

Go check those graves after the Rapture and see which ones are open and which ones aren't.

Your last sentence is what makes the difference here. It matters not what you say but how; This is a far cry from claiming something on behalf of God when no such thing is mentioned in the Bible. That you state it as speculation, makes for a post that expresses your opinion and as such I respect it, although I do not subscribe to it.

Assuming that you are right; What of the people who died in a way that no remains could be discerned from the ground they died on? If one died in a horrendous explosion that resulted in the vaporisation of the body then what is to come alive at the rapture:confused:

You have just shown our American Friends the big differences between European Christians and American Christians. Although this does not apply to all it certainly is a strong indication of how science is accepted and appreciated by Christians in Europe.

Fundamentalist Christians in the America will stoop to nothing in order to rid themselves of the foundations of scientific endeavour and replace it with their authoritarian principles of Obey or be damned!

Good post

You mean of those people in those graves?

Nothing, the grave will just sit there unopened.

If a Christian dies and is cremated and has his ashes spread over the Acheloos, then he will be reassembled at the Rapture.

By the way, mzungu, Daniel 8 portrays Greece as a goat, and we're taught that the word Aegean, as in Aegean Sea, means "goat" -- is this true?

I like your reasoning. Sarcasm, exaggeration, and creating of straw men. You are a credit to your belief system, and I mean that with all my heart. And may your method of apologetic increase. It's everything I've come to expect during my visit here today. You guys have not let me down.

(and please, if there are any creationists who argue this way, please consider arguing for the other side . )

.

like you doing just what you are criticizing? no thanks,

really stay where you are. a guy who 'argues' with nothing but sarcasm and falsehoods is not welcome.

The Aegean Sea was named after the mythical king Aegeas, Theseus's father. Apparently Aegeas told his son who was going to Crete to kill the Minotaur; That should he be killed by the beast then his returning ship should carry black sails, otherwise if victorious then the ship should carry white sails. To cut a long story short, Theseus forgot to change the sails and when his father king Aegeas saw the ship returning with black sails he jumped off the cliff and drowned in the archipelago after which it was renamed to Aegean sea in honour of the late king.

The meaning of Aegeas in ancient Greek means Shield (Shields were at the time made of Goat skin) That is where the word Aegis comes from. Also Τραγωδία (tragedy) means the goat's lament. Anyone who has seen goats and heard their bleat will notice that it sounds like crying.

This may sound strange to us but just like we do today; We give idiomatic meaning to various terms. An example is from the Watergate scandal; We use the word Gate to mean scandal when added to a name eg: IRANgate.

Unless one knows of the Watergate scandal then he will be at a loss as to the meaning of Irangate. Many such misunderstandings arise when translating ancient texts.

No you did not but your post was derogatory. Perhaps I misunderstood. If so then my apologies.:sorry:

i thought what i said was very accurately descriptive. so did at least one other person, who posted to say so. if you dont see it yourself, you dont.

But i really should not comment at all on that person, and will look into avoiding it in the future.

It would be silly to suggest that AV is a perfect angel when it comes to interacting with people. He may not blatantly insult people, but he's as passive-aggressive as it gets.

it comes in the form of stereotyping, grotesque insults against groups, not individuals.

aimed at groups, it has a word that applies, and its for my money a lot worse than insulting an individual, who may for that matter deserve it.
