Because its not historyI've only been saying this for five years.
For the 11th time: Creationism should not be taught in science class -- it should be taught in history class.
The point is though, atheists don't want it taught at all, unless it is taught under the same umbrella as mythology.
Sorry, but I've been saying this to you since I saw you make this claim, history is also based on evidence and the evidence we have has falsified creationism.
Besides, the beginning of the universe (natural or not) is not taught in any history class I've ever heard of.
Actually perhaps the history of Creationism should be taught in history class. That the 5,000 year old earth idea is fairly recent and is based on a British clergyman adding up the genealogies using a British understanding of how they should be understood.
I wonder how well a lot of faith based ideas would fare if it were widely known that their view is not what the Church has generally held over the centuries.
Why not? Teach the controversy I say!Because its not history
Do you want the Koran taught in history class too? how about Beowulf or Gilgamesh?

Your avatar -- is that you?Preach it brother!
I agree, creationists want creationism taught but not questioned.I have a sneaking suspicion that AV does not mean that at all. I am fairly sure he wants Creationism to be taught as something that actually happened.
Oh, please -- I have my own thread where I take (or took) questions.I agree, creationists want creationism taught but not questioned.
Thank you.Inmate Hovind.
