I think calling things phobic goes back to gay rights in the eighties, when Clinton enacted don't ask don't tell homosexuality was illegal in 19 states. The AIDS epidemic was spreading like wildfire and the debate was highly emotional. This isn't like that.
I remember back in 2010 the President of Mexico said wherever the is a Mexican, that's Mexico. It wasnt very long before Arizona had the strictest illegal immigration laws in the country.
We talk about why Clinton lost and this was the core issue. She was going to abandon enforcement of immigration laws and stop deporting illegals. The watershed was when she called Trump supporters deplorable. If you pro-life, opossed to open borders or refuse to sell wedding cakes to gay people your phobic and deplorable. Would someone kindly inform them it's not working
True. There was a lot of "war against laws in America" in the rhetoric Clinton used in her campaign.
Got a chance today to use the slam "xenophobe" on my wife today -she had just finished cleaning the kitchen table and I then put some snacks on the table and started a little munching. She was giving me a little grief about that so I called her a "xenophobe" since I am the only non-hispanic in my house. It was good for a laugh.
