Why look beyond the "now"?

There's the "now", which I totally get. And than there's feeding my family, or as a Lover of God...seeking God. The human being can live in both worlds. The beyond the "now", for many, is a critical component and part of the journey in seeking God.

The man who truly cares principally for himself is more worthy ... if he cares, not in the selfish, greedy sense, but in the wise sense. Not only does he minimize his attachments and permanently resolves his dukkha, he indirectly resolves the dukkha experienced by others as a result of eliminating any unwise actions he might have performed, and is thus an exemplar of a noble disciple.

The surgeon may save many lives in a physical sense ... but not only does he not directly solve dukkha, he prolongs it in many respects.

there is no method, there is right practice of faith, if a person properly practices the faith in the One Who is really the true Lord God, then they will understand the truth (in case they don't understand it), yes, what is unique in the true faith is that there is no method such as buddhism, vaishnavism, hinduism, sankirtan, yoga-mediation, etc., but there are sound principles that are even well-known such as don't consider (as) certain/proven what is not (fully) certain/proven (enough) to you, etc.

In my experience, peace and bliss is found in the now. Going beyond the now, towards speculation - things we cannot know - regarding the future or the past, creates attachments and dukkha.

We do it because we can. It's a creative capability of the human mind to project. It's part of the process. I've looked everywhere and found I already had it all. It's a state of doing as opposed to a state of being. The bliss is in the being.

you can read the translation I know that the translation may miss the true meaning but still it is helpful

I've knocked.. Made du'a regularly.. for over a decade.. Did not meet him.. I've met plenty of people who were abusive.. smokers.. pork eaters.. adulterers.. who are still Muslims.. and claim to know Allah.. I believe they are earnest.. He's quite an interesting god is he not?

being in the now completely could get you killed though I am sure some would not mind that at all. trying to always be in the now could be a great act of faith or it could trap you with the causes and effects of not planning for the future. the poor don't do that as it is and it is one reason why they remain poor. i'm not impressed with the monks who get free food.

imo you would know God if you knew bliss as someone else related that it is in the being. sadly our western religions tend to shade God with the vices of their culture, i.e. that God is an authoritarian and a king. that does not have to be bad because he uses whatever to draw us to him as much as we desire it so I can't find fault with buddhist (or whoever) unless they really do have fault... but that would just be their dukka or whatever you call it

if you don't think that Gods eyes are important then you would not even know why bliss exist in the first place.

you are in great delusion, when you come (successively) in the place of the sick/invalids at least in next/future eternities (i hope you won't be sick/invalid and won't suffer as long as possible as from now, but every soul will inevitably be in the place of any other successively during the course of the eternity of eternities, for there is an eternal circle of existence and positions of the souls), you will see that it is not good for humans to suffer from diseases/invalidism, but then, unfortunately, you won't remember who you were in this eternity, and this your attitude only indicates that you are very superficial and gullible, and that for now the "darkness" manages to (be)guile you

i believe only in the One Who is really the only true Lord God of the infinite universe - this is His most universal name, names such as krishna, brahma, vishnu, shiva, etc. are dumb and even deceitful

Exodus 3:14-15 "God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” God, furthermore, said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations."

i can't even imagine how a worshiper can successfully just say in their invocation/prayer "god" or "lord" or "krishna" when invoking/praying to God if they do not practice the faith right, because what guarantee is there that the One Who is really the true Lord God, not any other (given that all others are false/misleading), will operate in their lives if they do not practice faith in Him right, nor even invoke Him diligently/earnestly?!

I don't recall writing that a surgeon isn't doing good in his job.

The man who resolves his dukkha is achieving a transcendent good. The surgeon who saves physical lives is achieving a mundane good.

If it isn't good to suffer from diseases, why doesn't your deity resolve all of them immediately?

How do you know (not simply believe or imagine) that you are practicing the true faith correctly, and not a Muslim, or a Hindu, or a Pagan?

Buddhist practice actually increases compassion naturally, not in a forced way like Christianity. It takes out the overt emotionalism, which is ego, and helps one see others as they see themselves, karma laden beings stuck in the samsara, which increases ones compassion for them.

Is sustenance of and pleasures for the physical body the greatest virtue?

imo you would know God if you knew bliss ...

That sounds interpretive. E.g. "I feel love/compassion/powerful/blissful/etc., I must be in touch with God/Jesus/Krishna/Aphrodite/etc.!"

Why not see love as love, compassion as compassion, power as power, bliss as bliss - instead of trying to interpret them as coming from Aphrodite?

I guess it depends what one is after in their spiritual journey. For you, it's peace and bliss. For myself, the spiritual question I hold in front of myself is: What does it mean to becoming a more human, Human Being. An aspect of that is that in my journey I bring the peace and bliss as you say, "into" my daily life where I know that I do have attachments, like my children and grandchildren and Mother Earth, for instance. Attachment's aren't bad. It's what one does with them that matters.

If I'm not mistaken, it seems like you are stating that you find more peace and bliss by becoming more of a human being?
