because of its foolish, often contradictory claims, the immoral nature of its god, the inconsistency of the supposedly inspired bible, and pat robertson

So would you say that you have no desire for the Christian God to exist, hypothetically speaking?

no, i think that, considering the way the world works, the only god who could be a good one would be one who did not exist outside of literature or tradition

I see, well were you or any of your family members ever a Christian?

According to Christianity - myself and most people I love are going to Hell.

so I hope that this is not true

- but i'm not absolutly convinced.

Either you have nothing to fear, or the fate of many rests in your hands.

If God exists, who are we to say what is "good'? If God can not judge justly, what other entity could?

I don't think that the existance of a God requires that God to be good. Why must a creator be good?

But the Christian God is supposed to be good and just
and I don't understand how it can be ok to condemn people to hell.

Well if God wasn't good, I don't know how Good could exist.

God sends to people to hell because it is good and just. If everyone went to heaven, what good would be to be good? But moreover, who are we to say what is good judgement?

but if evil can exist without God being evil, then good can exist without God being good.

It is worth doing good just for the sake of it - it makes a difference to people's lives whether you get into heaven for it or not. Would you really not do any good if there was no heaven?

who are we to decide what is good judgement? Would you be on God's side if you thought he was evil? so aren't you deciding what is good judgement?

yes, i was a christian for most of my life, but when i actually read through the bible I deconverted...

perhaps if i hadn't been told all my life that the bible had to be inerrant and YEC had to be true, i would have been more likely to have stayed a christian, but i doubt it would have lasted... the genocides in the Old Testament were enough to convince me that it wasn't a god i wanted to worship

It's not that God is evil, but it's sin that produces evil. Sin is exists in freewill and contradicts the nature of God.

Doing "good" ultimatly would than make no difference. In matter of fact, "good" would have no definition and would be relative within a society. For example, the Aztecs thought sacrificing children to the sun was "good".

Why would I think something that created me and placed me in existance was evil?
