Why is it so hard sometimes to follow God's commands. It seems simple enough and they (the commands) are even not very numerous, but somehow I always eventually fall on my face.

Throughout the Bible, God has wanted people to do things they really did not want to do at first (Moses, Gideon, two examples). Even today, people are reluctant to follow His commands or listen to His urgings, because it's not what they want to do or different from their perception of what He wants them to do.

I guess my son falls on HIS face sometimes, so why wouldn't I. Sometimes, I find myself really not wanting to be Christian. Sometimes I WANT to sin and I resent God for not permitting it. I need to go pray....

Even Jesus was tempted at the desert. But He defeated Satanas with the word. Yes, sometimes it´s hard not to fall into sin, but that Who began the work will finish it. He will mold us by trials.

I think the important thing to remember here is what you said here. You know that you sin and you want to do what we all should do when we sin pray!!
God is all frogiving and remeber that he sent Jesus because He knew that we were constantly sinning. Your si has been paid for and although we shouldn't see this as a lisence to sin all the time we should see it as a passport to Heaven anyway. When we get there we will be unable to sin as everything will be perfect.
