Would a bat fit here?

Lev 3:1 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

Would a bat fit here?

Lev 10:9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

Would a bat fit here?

Lev 11:21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

Would a bat fit here?

Lev 11:27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you

Would a bat fit here?

Lev 11:29 These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,

Would a bat fit here?

Lev 11:42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

Or would a bat fit better in the second one here?

Lev 11:46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth

Seems the way he has set them up in respects to hoof and cud, fins and scales, upon all four with legs above feet to leap, or upon paws. Or creeping things which creep, or upon its belly, upon all four (or more feet). Thats its better suit among that which flies in the air.

Where would someone else best place the bat among how its ordered here?

I was reading in the OT where it says what foods we may not eat and under a list of birds, it says "a bat". Can someone explain?
Because God categorized it that way.
Simply because man categorize it differently, doesn't mean God is wrong. He probably categorized it in a way we have yet to figure out.

I'll trust God when it comes to His creations then anyone else. If God said that bats are birds then bats are birds, however God wants to classify it.

How do you know the science etc in the bible isn't God-breathed too? The bible has many amazing scientific discoveries.

How is it blasphemy?

What is Bibliolatry?

There are no amazing scientific discoveries in the Bible. Most scientific facts, the Biblical authors got wrong and were not corrected until the Greeks.

Bibliolatry is the worship of the Bible. You guys continue to exalt it to the same level of God by claiming it's the Word of God, infallible, inerrant, etc. etc.

Yeah he seemed to categorize it differently and the bat seems to be the only issue in relation to fowl. But He does appear to categorize them in a very elementary way (so as to be easily discerned). That which is in the waters rivers and seas (as it pertains to fins and scales). That which is of the larger beasts which goeth on all fours (as it pertains to parted hoof, paws and cud chewers). That which goeth on its belly and that which creepeth according to number of legs and legs above their feet (as it pertains to leaping) and that which belongeth to the fowl of the air (having wings for flight).

I dont see Him giving them a harvard science lesson here, but elemental by showing them (according to those categories easily reccognized and very simply) which were clean and unclean for them.

Besides God brought the animals to Adam, and he named them, even God said whatever "Adam" named them "that" was its name.

God doesnt say "I the LORD named them" ^_^ But as was reccognized by Adam and "so called" (so it was) even as the LORD said.

Though, I cant say I would be bold enough to say God, I know you created the bat and you classified it wrongly, what doest thou? ^_^

 No doubt!

The "taxonomy" that includes mosquitoes also includes flamingos and bats. From this it's safe to say the Bible isn't really attempting to classify "birds" as a group within the animal kingdom the way modern science is concerned with, nor is it reasonable to say the Bible is in error here the way some here are doing, regardless what pedigree they boast themselves of.

Yeah exactly bro, I mean Ive never really looked into this myself, so I am no expert, and thank God for all things (even my boredom here) which led me to look at some of these things, but it just seems like a very elemental way of categorization for them at the time.

Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Jerm 5:27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

You can see spiritual truths in natural things

Birds of the air is a consistent Biblical reference to demons. (Funny how Jews say OT doesn't speak of them)

There looks to be a couple of words translated into english as devils

This one used twice

Psalm 106:37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils 7700, (Duet 32:17 too)

And this one used more

Lev 17:7 And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils 8163

But pertains to these as well...

kid 28, goat 24, devil 2, satyr 2, hairy 2, rough 1

Unless unclean spirits perhaps, it speaks of an unclean spirit passing out of the land (as does Jesus) and seven more wicked then itself making its abode and that as it pertains to this generation, and the state of a man. But people can be shown as being a hold or as a cage full of hateful birds, cant see how a bird can be hateful unless its not really speaking of birds but to something else as the context appears to show as well.

Who'd of thunk'd it? That a bat thread could be so educational?^_^
