I sort of think of it in the opposite. Like the child is more blessed if the rod is used. There seems to be some good fruit. Im hoping I dont get any liberals upset at me hehe.

Thats easy to explain, it is always more blessed to follow the Bible than man. God will bless obedience. Here is a verse for pondering.
