• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why I Don't Believe In Atheism's Creation Myth

well now hold on a minute...if there are genuine questions...they should be asked and explored, do you agree?
You might want to grasp the very basics first. You still seem to be under the notion that the study of evolution has not gone beyond the research of Darwin, even though you have been told otherwise at least twice on this very thread.

I admit that I understand very little about biology, geology, and evolution studies. I avoid making blind claims in areas that I have very little understanding.

To argue against what scientists claim to be evidence, it is important to have a degree of underlying understand. It is kind of like a 5 year old kid saying pi has no relation to a circle, when he has no understanding of decimals, angles, or trigonometry. Even though the five year old can count to 100 and can identify shapes (triangles and circles), he has no understanding of pi.

Dawkins thinks Darwin was infallible because evolution/atheism is a religion.

Please provide a quote from Dawkins supporting the bolded part of your statement.

I am no fan of Dawkins' public persona or a great deal of of what he says, but I have never read any of his writings that even hinted at Darwin being infallible or atheism being a religion.

And what is the meaning of this conflation of evolution and atheism? I think AoS is forgetting that a very large proportion of the Christian world also accepts evolution.

Maybe today, but taking the entire family of God into consideration, evolution is outside looking in.

AV1611VET, from what I have read, AoS and you have radically different views on the creation.

Do the two of you ever debate over your opposing interpretations?

No -- we are not suppose to in a public forum.

1 Corinthians 6:1 ¶ Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

In addition, even though Agonaces and I may not see eye-to-eye on creation, we agree that God did it -- and that settles the matter right there.

So, since Muslims agree with you that God did it, that settles the matter right there, as well?

Thank you, sir -- and you too! :)

We don't have that burden of fighting and arguing amongst ourselves; then calling it "peer review" and going home like we did something spectacular.

God said, "Blessed are the peacemakers" -- not "Blessed are the peer reviewers".

Also, way to cherry pick your quotes, as usual, AV. Just before that, Paul says to judge those within the church and let those outside be judged by God.

For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Muslims don't agree with us that God did it.

By "God did it", we mean God; not the primary [moon] deity of the Quraysh tribe that Mohammad came from.

Our God has a Son, Jesus Christ the Righteous.

Their god has no son.

Peacemakers? like when Protestants and Catholics were at war and were killing each other?

That's so much better then peer review ;)

So?

Does that mean we are to debate one another on a public forum where others are literally dying to hear the Gospel?

Ro 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Two Christians debating doctrine is called variance, and variance before the general public is a sin.

I can't answer for Protestants and Catholics -- I am neither.

It seems more like hiding the truth of how fractured Christianity really is to save face when talking about absolute truth. :p

What about the wilfuly ignorant?

(Yeah, I know, I'm a TE, and we don't count, so argue away)
