*ahem* From my chemistry textbook: "A theory is a broad generalization that explains a body of facts of phenomena."

6-day creationism is one way of explaining the way the world began. It's a valid train of thought.

Evolution is another way of explaining it.

They're both theories. Which one fits the evidence best is another story...

Because the YECs got tired of the call for evidence and the evolutionists got frustrated with the YECs' lack of evidence. :p

Basically, it seems that we get a lot of "evidence to support creationism?" and "evidence to contradict evolution?" threads without any real responces, some stuff about Mr Hovind's "Science," and the occasional thread where knowledgable evolutionists teach those with a genuine desire to know about the science of evolution.

500th post!

I don't think this board has gone dormant. It's the second most popular section next to Apologetics.

6 Day Creationism is a belief not a theory. There's nothing wrong with it being a belief either. I just don't understand why some Christians need to put it on the same level as science. Two different matters..Science and Faith.
I have Faith. I don't mix my faith up with science.

(sigh)But do what you will.

Congratulations on your 500th post, Sky.

[quote/]

Yep.  Evolutionary theory is indeed a broad generalization that explains a body of facts.

Fact - The diversity of life on earth exists in a nested heirarchy

Fact - Biogeography (how do you explain it without evolution)

Fact - Mutations and natural selection

Fact - Over several generations, the decendants of a species can diverge enough to be considered different species

Fact - the fossil record

Fact - genetics

What body of facts and phenomena does 6-day creationism explain?

I'm not posting much here because of the silly, mandatory 10 post per page limit, which defeats the purpose of a powerful, customizable forum program like VBulletin in the first place.

Hope they fix it soon.
