There's a good debate to be had over colleges pushing agendas and not being open to the other side being presented. Now, that doesn't cover all issues because I wouldn't give flat-Earthers the time of day in a college classroom, but on social issues there are reasons to present what the other side believes. Both in right wing and left wing settings.

The problem then becomes separating alternative-fact based right-wing agendas from actual-here-in-reality-fact based agendas. And from what I've seen, attempts to separate the two devolve into calling people elites for actually knowing facts about the subject being discussed.

I always thought it was 2+2 = 5 and not 1+1=5 in 1984.
