I've gone on record saying I don't like millennials and how they've hurt the left's causes with their idiocy. What more can I say about that?
Let's see if I have that correct. You are opposed to these things I mentioned because they hurt the Left's cause? Not because they are reprehensible in themselves?

That said, this article isn't solely about colleges and while I know why you'd like to focus there instead of what I said, seems a bit disingenuous.
It DID occupy the first half of the post to which I replied, so I can't agree that it wasn't pertinent. If you want to argue that I have a moral argument to reply to every last thought that's expressed in every post to which I respond, you'll have to explain your thinking more closely.

Will the nitpicking ever end around here?! Please forgive me for not taking the time to create a comprehensive list of the entire reasons that I don't like what they do. I said they should be arrested which indicates I believe they engaged in criminal activities. I kind of assumed that covered how I felt about their actions. That they hurt the cause makes it even worse.

Why Elites Hate

No small part of the attraction of identity politics is its usefulness in silencing those who do not hew to progressive orthodoxy. This dynamic is most visible on campuses, where identity politics is also most virulent. It’s no accident, in other words, that the mob at Middlebury resorted to violence to try to keep Charles Murray ; after all, he’s been called a “white nationalist.” In much the same way identity politics has led Democrats to regard themselves as the “resistance” rather than the loyal opposition.

The great irony here is that this has left Democrats increasingly choosing undemocratic means to get what they want. From President Obama’s boast that he would use his pen and phone to bypass Congress to the progressive use of the Supreme Court as its preferred legislature to the Iran and climate deals that made end runs around the Constitution, it all underscores one thing: The modern American progressive has no faith in the democratic process because he has no trust in the American people.

Also rather blithely ignores the many reported instances of shenanigans at tribal right leaning colleges, but let's not digress.
FWIW, I do appreciate an artistic choice of words when I see it. Because there is nothing on
"right leaning campuses" to compare with the violence against moderate students and the denial of their rights at so many leading colleges, you had to come up with some sort of specially vague word. "Shenanigans" was it. Bravo.

I suppose you're referring to such awful things as a chapel requirement or separate dorms for women and men.

You know, it's really fascinating how a few minutes ago a very inoffensive cabinet member was being called a Nazi along with the president...and when there was any pushback against such a disgraceful tactic, all of a sudden what we hear is "why nit pick?" "both sides do the same things" and the like.

No, no, he was talking about tribal colleges. Must be about the frybread or something.

I'd suggest you look up the word "tribal," particularly the part of the definition that goes something like this, "characterized by a tendency to form groups or by strong group loyalty."

That must be what Elizabeth Warren would say also...now.

Is it just me, or is there a huge amount of irony in the author using Identity Politics ("elites") to bash Identity Politics?

Between their hatred/distrust of liberals, the media, elites, and Muslims, the right embraces identity politics just as much as the left does - they just refuse to recognize it as identity politics.

Or maybe some people just need to learn English. While you can question if that usage of the word "tribal" fits Right Wing colleges, that usage of tribal is a common usage of the word.

The Left Wing doesn't have much if any sense of humor, does it?
