Why don't protestants bless Mary?

Well, Catholics don't believe either of those (Genesis didn't happen and there was no fall of Man), so it's time to drop this line of attack.
Well it is obvious that you completely ignored my post on #1399. So here it is for you again. The news video where Pope Francis says Genesis 1 was a myth and Evolution and the Big Bang is true.

Which really is the point of this discussion: believe in Jesus and you cannot be wrong. Believe in anything else, and sooner or later, they will disappoint. On this side of eternity anyway.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will move them away from falsehood and into the truth and security that come from knowing that Jesus Christ of Nazareth (fully God and fully man) is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and He needs no help from anyone to be these things. I pray that they come to know and love the beauty and incredible miracle that is ours because the temple veil was torn in two, and we can now bring our supplications not to an "angel" or "saint" or whomever; because the Father commanded it, and Jesus was faithful unto DEATH upon the cross for MY horrible wretched sin...because of Jesus' faithfulness, His courage, and His place as God the Son, we may enter the throne room of the Most High God and praise Him, and worship Him and bring our requests to God Almighty.

Man!!! Doesn't that just make you wanna stomp and shout????
Amen.

If anyone agrees with the Pope and his belief that Genesis 1 did not really happen, you have to believe the fall of man never really happened as well.
First of all, the story of the fall happens in the SECOND story of Creation, Genesis 2-3, NOT Genesis 1 as you claim.

Secondly, you certainly CAN believe in evolution and believe in the Fall. I do.

I know the answers, but obviously it's matters like these that people have in mind when it's said that the church has changed doctrines, even though it denies doing so.

It's not because someone wonders if the church has ever changed from believing in the Resurrection to not believing in the Resurrection or vice-versa. ;)
It's not our fault if they have an overly simplistic idea of what we mean. They jump to conclusions and never bother to ask US what WE mean when WE say it. It reminds me of fundamentalists who say, "Well evolution is JUST a theory." They don't bother to learn that "theory" in scientific terms means something very different than in day to day language.

I watched it. You're still wrong. The pope does not say there what you claimed ("Genesis 1 did not really happen"), nor does the commentator.

Well, I provided supporting evidence for my claim. Now you have the burden of providing supporting evidence of yours. Otherwise you are only proving that you are in denial and simply do not want to believe the evidence that was provided.

While you are right that such a thing does sometimes happen, I can't agree that ducking the question is much of an answer. Reminded me of Hillary's response to the question about wiping her email server--"You mean, like taking a cloth and wiping the screen??"

And the story about the fall of man where Satan took the form of a serpent? Is that a myth too?
Correct. It is not historical. It teaches eternal truths. For example it teaches that man was once in harmony with God, with himself, and with the earth, but learned the difference between good and evil, and by doing so, fell from paradise and now suffers because of it. That is all true.

You didn't provide any evidence unless you mean a video which does NOT say what you claimed.

But isn't Mary supposed to be the second Eve? And now Eve is a myth? How much more of the bible is a "myth". If the Pope flat out said Jesus was a myth like much of secular historians believe, would you believe that too?

Jason, believing in Evolution doesn't mean we can say unequivically Genesis 1 didn't happen because it kind of did, just not in the order that is recorded, not in six 24 hour days, and with a lot of the in between stuff left out. It is true to say that Genesis is not a historical account--it is the genre of myth. It teaches eternal truths, like GOD CREATED and CREATION IS GOOD.

All animals, because they do not know right from wrong, are in a state of innocence and therefore sinless.
There is overwhelming evidence that the flood if Noah never happened. If the Pope said it was a myth, would you believe it?

Is that how you think evolution works? That an ape mom gives birth to a human baby? *bops jason on the head* LOL

The parents of the first humans were also hominids, but they did not have complete moral sentience.

I don't understand your point. Myths are real. They just aren't historical. But they are real. It's just a different KIND of real than history. The Eve in Genesis 2-3 is an archetype. I don't know if you understand that, and if you don't, it would take me way too long to really fully explain to you what that is and its incredible, AWESOME significance and power.

Sometimes I think to truly, truly understand just how POWERFUL these archetypes in myth are, there is no escaping the homework of reading and reading and reading all the fairytales and myths and legends from around the world and down through time. I grew up on Grimm's, American Tall Tales, and Native American Myths, but the big breakthrough for me into the power of myth was the Lord of the Rings. It became like a second Bible to me. Indeed, it so changed my world view that I give it credit for my conversion.

I am concerned with the absolutely blind faith you have, not with Jesus and the scriptures, but with the men who lead the Roman Catholic Church. Honestly, at what point would you say that the bible is right and the church is wrong? Did you know that secular archeology found absolutely no evidence of the Exodus or King David. If the Pope agreed with secular archeology on these issues, would you follow him? What if the ascension of Enoch and Elijah is a "myth"? What if the extra-biblical sources that the Roman Catholic Church follows are a "myth" as well?
