Why don't protestants bless Mary?

To call God a magician is to belittle Him who did speak the creation into existence. Ex nihilo--from nothing: impossible by any means or through any agency but God.

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit; by whom all that has been created, was created. God is perfect, needing no one, and apart from Him, no one, not one is Holy.
If only Pope Francis believed the same. But eh... I guess the Pope is saying that Adam and Eve came from apes?

"You will know a tree by its fruit."

"Offspring of vipers, how are you able to speak good things, being evil? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks."

""Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are."

Yes, those 2 things are. But other things Catholics claim are dogma, such as Mary being sinless and ascending to Heaven, are not.
To *us* they are unchallengeable and unchangeable. I never said I was talking about YOUR opinion.

There no doubt are some dogmas that the Catholic Church has not changed. Yeh, we can probably agree to that.
You're incredible, Albion-- you're not pleased even when we agree.

What does someone's "opinion" have to do with dogma that has no biblical support?
Where is the supporting evidence for the ascension of Mary?

If the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope said the bible was wrong, specifically Genesis 1, and said that God is not a "magician who could simply wave a wand and create everything from nothing", what would you think?
The CC and the Pope do not say that Genesis 1 is wrong. A Myth is not a lie, it is a teaching story. Similarly, the fact that there was never a historical Good Samaritan doesn't make the parable "wrong" or a "lie." A parable is not supposed to be a true story. It is read for the message of truth it is teaching. The same with Genesis 1. God creates and it is good.

So is the creation of Adam and Eve also a "myth"? Because if what the Pope says is true, they came from apes and not from the earth.

I find it rather surprising that's it's almost passed off as a coincidence that Jesus tells us to call no one on earth your father for you only have one Father who is in Heaven, and yet Catholics go out of their way to refer to someone (a priest) as Father when they address him. They do it with ANY priest, not just one they see as a "father figure".
You either didn't read my post, or you had no comprehension of what I wrote at all, or you would not have written what you wrote.

"I alone…am the successor of the apostles, the vicar of Jesus Christ..I am the way, the truth, and the life…" (Source: History of the Christian Church, by Henry Charles Sheldon, p. 59.)
This one is a no brainer. The Pope here simply claims to be the VICAR of Christ. It's like the Prime Minister of the King -- the one who rules in his stead while he is away. See those three dots before "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." ? Those stand for missing words, the words necessary to give context to what is being said. Without those words, you have no case.

Now, let's be candid, O.H.

Do you really, really think that saying that the RCC hasn't changed "the resurrection, or that Christ died for our sins" proves that the church has never changed its doctrines?? Really? No mention of Limbo, Papal Infallibility, or something that's at least a wee bit more to the point? :)

And about the other two quotes? Because those popes are not claiming to be "the prime minister" of God. THEY ARE FLAT OUT SAYING THEY ARE GOD! GOD AND THE POPE ARE THE SAME AND THE POPE IS JESUS CHRIST IN A VAIL OF FLESH!

“The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” (Source: Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Cities Petrus Bertanous Chapter XXVII: 218.)

There are problems with this quote.

1. The author hides behind a veil of obscurity, giving only his last name, so that he can’t be identified.

2. This quote is attributed to Pope Pius V by "Bertanous" aka Pietro Bertano. The problem is that Pius V became pope in January 7, 1566—that’s about eight years after Piero Bertano died. How could someone who is not then a pope make a statement about the papacy?

In other words, we think this quote is a fraud.

That has nothing to do with whether or not God created mankind.

Adam and Eve were the first people with souls.

Absolutely false. Why do you state something so ludicrous.

The popes are echoing the words of Jesus spoken to the leaders of the Church:

"whoever listens to you, listens to me"

Here is the source.

The book by Barclay referred to is DE POTESTATE PAPAE: An & Quatenus in Reges & Principes Seculares Ius & Imperium Habiet by Guil. Barclaii I. C., Liber posthumus. Reddite Caesari quae sunt Caesaris, & quae Dei Deo. Anno M. D.C. IX. [1609], Online at Bayerische StaatsBibliothek, Bavarian State Library.

"The Pope is not simply the representative of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, he is Jesus Christ Himself, under the veil of the flesh, and who by means of a being common to humanity continues His ministry amongst men ... Does the Pope speak? It is Jesus Christ Who is speaking.
Frs. Leslie Rumble and Charles M. Carty already answered this question in volume 2 of their Radio Replies (which were actually transcripts of a 1930's radio program hosted by them):

2-310. Pope Pius X made the blasphemous claim that he was "Jesus Christ hidden under the veil of the flesh. Does the Pope speak? It is Jesus Christ who speaks."

REPLY: A Protestant paper, the "Church Review," in England, October 3, 1895, charges Cardinal Sarto, Archbishop of Venice, with having uttered those words at Venice. Cardinal Sarto was elected Pope in 1903. But as soon as the charge was made in 1895 that Cardinal Sarto had said those words, inquiries were sent from England to Venice, and Cardinal Sarto produced the manuscript of his discourse. And this is what he actually did say:"The Pope REPRESENTS Jesus Christ Himself, and therefore is a loving father. The life of the Pope is a holocaust of love for the human family. His word is love; love, his weapon; love, the answer he gives to all who hate him; love, his flag, that is, the Cross, which signed the greatest triumph on Earth and in Heaven."

Since when have Catholics ever been Protestant? Why do you assume we hold to YOUR standards? We are not sola scriptura like you. We accept both the authority of the scripture AND the authority of the church. The bible says it is the CHURCH which is the pillar and foundation of truth. 1 Tim 3:15 The Bible NEVER says that ONLY Scripture is the authority for dogma, so you are applying your own manmade tradition to us and we are not interested.

Sola scriptura is not the point! Where is the source that supports the belief that Mary ascended into heaven rather dying a normal human death?
The problem is not that protestants rely to heavily on the bible, it is that it seems like the Roman Catholic Church consistently makes an effort to defy it! Just like liberal democrats want to rip apart the constitution because it is inconvenient (like gun rights) so too does the Roman Catholic Church seem to view the bible as an obstacle that gets in the way of their own personal agenda. I cannot help but believe that the RCC just makes doctrine up for one reason or another in spite of scripture only to turn around and make elaborate adhoc explanations to rationalize the contraditions.
