CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

People believe things for all sorts of psychological reasons and those beliefs may in fact be so strong, they are willing to sacrifice their life, but it doesn't make the beliefs true. Basic human psychology shows us this is the case, regarding personal beliefs.

I am not the only one nor am I the first to come up with such explanations. There are so much scientific research done that supports the notion of careful design of the universe, people are just turning a blind eye to them and listening to what they like to hear. They look at only one side of the story and ignore everything else.
There are scientists out there who might have much more plausible explanations that the universe is a careful design. Look them up if you are ever interested.

You still don't understand the difference. Islam calls its followers to kill unbelievers in the name of Allah, that's murder. Christians do not kill but are killed by others. Immorality cannot coexist with God.

The explanations design proponents come up with are a dime a dozen. As I explained, even the Phd scientists (the handful) who believe in design, can not come up with a scientific definition of design and or a falsifiable test, to determine if design is present.
Those are the facts and this was blatantly evident, in the Dover trial.

This statement has been made again and again, I feel like I'm just going in circles.
When Jesus died on the Cross, He promised He will be resurrected. If that never happened, Christianity would not have existed in the first place. End of conclusion.Christians who kill in the name of God are not Christians, simple as that.

Who said it was about personal preferences? The fundamentals of Christianity is a life of morality and God-honoring. One who goes against the teachings of his faith is a hypocrite, that's not hitting the "easy" button.

bhsmte is asking you how to prove something that is design is not design.
For example how could you prove Dawkins' book "The God Delusion" was not a product of intelligent designed? Dawkin believe his book is intelligent designed so in what way could we prove him wrong?
Again it goes back to atheist assuming designs in nature are illusions yet shows no evidence that it's an illusion.

For something not to be designed, ie. it occurs by chance, it will mean there are no observable patterns to how it works. For instance, gravity will cease to be observed as a pattern in the formation of stars and the orbiting of planets.
There is no evidence for the illusion of design because design is never an illusion. Physics and other realms of science would be totally meaningless and unreliable in explaining our world if the universe operates on chance rather than design.

I just did in my post to Smidlee. Science aims at predicting and explaining the world around us by defining the patterns or the processes that govern the universe. If the universe operates on chances and not by design, predictability will cease to exist and science becomes a wholly redundant and meaningless exploit.

Why do you demand that I give objective evidence when it is all around us? Why do people rely on science if the universe cannot be predicted and operates by chance?
