I am well aware that faith is given by God. But you have to believe to qualify for salvation, salvation is future tense after believing.
Once faith is given the freewill choice to respond or not respond must be made.
Check out the rules. It`s against the rules to put you on ignore?
That might be where you and I differ. I believe Jesus gives His sheep Eternal Life, not temporary or conditional life. It is everlasting and He says nothing or no one can snatch away one of His sheep from His hands or the Fathers hands. He says of His sheep the will NEVER PERISH. There are so many other passages on Eternal Life which confirm the above teaching of Jesus in John 6. Paul in Romans 8 confirms the same idea as Jesus that nothing in this life can separate of from the Love of Christ. Paul says the same thing in Ephesian 1 where we are sealed(cannot be opened or removed)with the Holy Spirit as a down-payment, a guarantee/a pledge by God of our future inheritance. John tells us we can know/ be assured we have Eternal Life. Jesus says those with Eternal Life are not condemned but have passed from death into life. Paul says it like this there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.
I could go on and on but hopefully that is sufficient to make the point regarding Eternal Life is permanent once received.
hope this helps !!!
Ok thanks for clearing that up Rick !You are misunderstanding me. Let`s review the text.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
believing in the heart = faith
The salvation comes after "thou shalt" = future tense
Belief is the qualification = called
Salvation occurs after = chosen/recieve Holy Spirit
I made no reference to a temporary salvation. I don`t know how you got that impression.
The difference between you and me is; you think God will save you if you recite this as an incantation. I say these things because God saved me.You are misunderstanding me. Let`s review the text.

Ask a moderator.I see no rule against putting you on ignore.
Yet none of these acts could he do, except through the assistance of Divine Grace. But in his lapsed and sinful state, man is not capable, of and by himself, either to think, to will, or to do that which is really good; but it is necessary for him to be regenerated and renewed in his intellect, affections or will, and in all his powers, by God in Christ through the Holy Spirit, that he may be qualified rightly to understand, esteem, consider, will, and perform whatever is truly good. When he is made a partaker of this regeneration or renovation, I consider that, since he is delivered from sin, he is capable of thinking, willing and doing that which is good, but yet not without the continued aids of Divine Grace.”
