Well that platitude sounds very impressive. I can't see in what way it's remotely relevant to what I said, but yes, very impressive sounding.Professed Christians compromise by deferring to man's authority and rejecting God's authority all the time.
This false statement has been refuted a dozen times on this thread alone.Genesis, for example, consists of two conflicting creation accounts from two different authors from two different time periods.
In that case YOU explain all the mutually supporting scientific evidence of a 14 billion year old universe, and the complete lack of evidence of much of the stories in Gennesis? IMHO the people who lack faith are the ones who believe in the magnifying glass and tweasers God who works in human timescales of a few thousand yearsThat's only because you don't have the faith to believe it to be true... God is capable of exactly what He has said to us in His Word.
Wrong Hog, the Bible is only a mystery to those that have not received th Holy Spirit to give them understanding. God says His Word is foolishness to those wise in their own minds...You don't seem to understand. The Bible is not in question here, one's interpretation is. The fact that people may have trouble interpreting the Bible or that a passage may be given more than one interpretation does not mean it is worthless. It simply points to the fact it can be difficult to follow at times, period, end of it, nothing more.
Where's your faith that what God said is true?Correction....I'm not dismissing the book of genesis, I'm just viewing the book as never putting a strong focus on teaching historically accuracy unlike a modern history book. When talking about the past, people has less of a focus then people of today on the topic of historical accuracy.
That's fine Hog but you will have to answer to God for your unbelief. Her statements are nothing but inflammatory rhetoric and do not require an answer on my part. I feel no need to have to justify myself to any anti-intellectual.
There's no need to wait for the future to contemplate strange scenarios. We have challenges to consider right now. What happens to God's image when the person is born with diminished intelligence? What happens to God's image when the fertilized egg spontaneously aborts without human intervention? What happens to God's image when the fertilized egg starts to grow but only goes part way, and winds up imbedded in a "twin" that grows more normally, becoming what they call a "teratomma"? What happens to God's image when a baby is tragically born without a cerebral cortex? These things happen, you know.
I'm not saying I know the answer. I'm saying we don't have to wait for some obscure future evolutionary development to start having such problems.
Evolution is a random sequences of mutations that sometimes supposedly produces beneficial results... this is not a God ordained system. Are you saying that the genetic mutations we see in the world today causing debilitating suffering for the people with them, is what God intended?God is not diminished when one realizes God designed a universe that contains evolution so that we would come along.

I am not asking to be an exception or accepted, I am simply a witness. But your demands make you a doubting Thomas...the least of disciples (at best). In the scheme of things, you could do better. It doesn't work that way with me. I need to see something beyond the mere claim that one feels moved by the Spirit. Every kook and nut case in the book has claimed they were moved by the Spirit. Why should you be an exception?
Hog, thank you for using the "Reply" feature, BTW.KW, it is a no-no in serious theological discussion and also on this forum for you or anyone else to sit and knock the spirituality and Christianity of fellow Christians, as you are doing with me here. Posts such as this simply show you are very intolerant and lacking in respect for those Christians who maybe do not share your views. Certain forms of religious ideation border on irrational, neurotic thinking. And frankly this and other hate posts you have aimed at me come awful close, too close, to such ideation.
According to Genesis God cursed man, put the pains of childbirth in women etc. It claims God drown the entire earth, started over and it didn't work. The Bible implies that the devil mislead the whole world, God drowned everyone but kept Satan alive. It even says God will lock up Satan for a thousand years, then let him loose again??????So your argument seems inconsistent.Evolution is a random sequences of mutations that sometimes supposedly produces beneficial results... this is not a God ordained system. Are you saying that the genetic mutations we see in the world today causing debilitating suffering for the people with them, is what God intended?
The theory of evolution tries to explain away the results of sin on the human race... cui bono? seems like something satan would want to confuse us on, don't ya think?
When you look at someone that suffers from a genetic deformation, do you think..."this is the results of sin upon our race" or "this is all a part of Gods' plan through evolution"? Can you start to see the effect of this "theory" upon Christians?
That places the whole evolutionary position in too great a light. God is indeed diminished when one believes the words of men over the word of God.God is not diminished when one realizes God designed a universe that contains evolution so that we would come along.
