Now we get to the nub of the problem. Where did you get the idea that I am trying to teach you? I select my students very carefully. All I am doing here is exposing to you the aspects of your beliefs that you have not considered. Your statement about salvation and knowledge are a reflection of how you view these exchanges. I don't have to worry about your salvation. If you read my posts carefully you would know that your concern does not apply to me.
Stormy,Not even... to say that the 10 commandments are a revelation of God's character is like saying that the rules a parent makes up are a revelation of their character... as adventists we get it so twisted...
The revelation of God's character is LOVE... always has been always will be... what did Jesus say, Love God, love your fellow man. He said people are going to know you are mine because of your love....
We ignore the mountain of evidence pointing to love and say, the 10 commandments are a revelation of God's character... well if that is so, why weren't those commandments given in eden?
That's where you have it all wrong. I don't care for you to agree with me. To agree with me you would have to have had all my experiences. You have not. What I want is that you hold to a position that makes sense and is at least internally consistent. I don't accept the Catholic doctrine of praying to Mary and the saints but it makes complete sense if you believe that the righteous go to heaven when they die. That's what I mean by internal consistency. It's the old, "If you love me keep my commandments" principle.Because I don't agree with you then I must never have considered your point of view?
nope not even, and I suspect you are not at the place where you could see the difference..... Love came first.....Stormy,
Romans 13:10 tells us that the FULFILLMENT is Love. There are a couple of other texts that say the same thing. So while God is certainly Love. Love is the fulfillment of His Commandments. One and the same.
It is time for the church to wonder what it means when it says it has 14 million members.nope not even, and I suspect you are not at the place where you could see the difference..... Love came first.....
He's God, and God cannot sin. If he could he wouldn't be God.So what kept Him from sinning........
nope not even, and I suspect you are not at the place where you could see the difference..... Love came first.....
wasnt a slam, it was a simple, we disagree, I am not going to try to convince you of my way of thinking, you won't believe it anyway... sorry you think the worst of me or my intentions...That statement reads like this: "You're wrong.....let me slam your capacity for learning a little bit....now let me mention love."
Stormy, was it not you that posted scripture about WHO is capable of teaching? Is it you, or is it the Holy Spirit?
I don't understand the need to adopt students that don't want you to teach them. We haven't asked you to, and we know WHO really has that ability and authority to teach us.
I just get the weird impression that some on here read people's posts in the spirit of "where can I find fault in what they just said and interject MY knowledge as a better answer?"
Point to the scripture that SAYS he's wrong, if he is, and let him make up his own mind through prayer. That really is all you can do.
T&O,
I'm afraid this maybe a case of Matthew 7:6
indeed...I wonder how T&O is going to interpret that given the way she interpreted Stormy's post.
LOL, not even.... let's just say, I've been where you are... you are comfortable there, its working for you, so its all good... you may or may not ever be where I am, and the good thing is you might never have to be... the key is that you are on a journey with God, and He usually leads us in interesting directions..... if we are willing to follow that is...
Having said that, there is no need to disparage those who don't share your view... just admit there is no agreement and move on to another topic.... JMO....
