"Enjoy the Sabbath" sounds good!Brother, the greeting "happy Sabbath" is shorter than "enjoy the Sabbath" direct from the text. I reserve the word "delight" as the sentiment elevated to the Lord. We are to "enjoy the Sabbath" so that we can "delight" in "the Lord". Using direct quotes: "enjoy the Sabbath" so that "the Lord will be your delight" on the "Sabbath".
“Keep the Sabbath day holy. Don’t pursue your own interests on that day, but enjoy the Sabbath and speak of it with delight as the LORD’s holy day. Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day, and don’t follow your own desires or talk idly. Then the LORD will be your delight. I will give you great honor and satisfy you with the inheritance I promised to your ancestor Jacob. I, the LORD, have spoken!” (Isaiah 58:13-14 NLT)
Not specific to the goal on the "Sabbath": to "enjoy the Sabbath" by not pursuing our own "interests" or following our own "desires" to make "the Lord" our "delight" on the "Sabbath". Something simple, like planning quality time with the family together on the Sabbath than during the rest of the week.
United in our hope for the soon return of Jesus, Jorge
On non Sabbath days other blessings from the scriptures could be used, it seems like.
I don't know if you've noticed, but I don't usually get on the forums this late at night. But I'm making a special exception tonight because I had this insight:
Is the reason that you use only a Sabbath-related blessing is because you feel that other blessings would distract from the Sabbath?
If that's the case, I could understand that! I wouldn't agree with it, but I could understand it.
Peace, my man!
